Finally…interesting nominations.I’m SOOO tired of seeing the likes of Katy Perry, Lady GaGa and Lil Wayne nominated for EVERYTHING!So glad that Jill Scott (she slayed at the BET awards), Melanie Fiona and Robin Thicke will perform. And some of the unexpected nominees were a very pleasant surprise.

That said, the “record of the year” category is a mess. Most of those songs did not DEFINE the year.

    Anyway… 😎

I am not trying to throw shade, but I haven’t never heard Adele on the urban station in my city. Actually I haven’t never seen her on the Urban Billboard charts, so why is she nominated.

  23. TruthTeller October 21, 2011

    LMAO

    BET Centric ?????????????

The Soultrain Awards done fell off.

  24. VA STAND UP!!! October 21, 2011

I love how people are saying these awards shows don’t mean s***, well clearly they mean enough to get your attention and felt compelled to comment! Don’t act like you don’t see Adele, Beyonce’s and Riyodel’s names up there! Stupid hypocritical b******!

Anywho, I’m glad to see CB in the lead and I’m sure he will take home at least a couple, possibly Best Male R&b, Best Dance Song & Best Hip Hop song. ‘LAMN’ really slayed this year, it totally shocked the hell out of me!

I hope Kelly takes some home as well. She has worked hard this year and even though her sales don’t reflect it would be nice to see her rewarded for her work. I’m sure Bey will win something cause she tends to always win an award at every Award Show she attends. *shrugs*

I hope Miguel wins Best New Artist, but they might give that to Marsha Ambrocious, who I don’t really think is ‘new’ per se but I guess since this is her first solo album she classifies as new. They both would deserve it but I’m pulling for Miguel cause he is amazing live!

Overall I’m not too impressed about the Soul Train Awards, I can honestly say I’ve never watched not one broadcasting before. Good luck to all the nominees though. *shrugs*

  28. James227 October 21, 2011

Ha!!!!!!! Some people really have nerve to say that the Soul Train Awards fell off. I bet if your fav would have been nob. for 5 awards then the show would be the bomb. GTFOH silly rabbit tricks are for kids.

  30. MISHKA October 21, 2011

I remember the time when Soul Train Awards were THE SH!T… well, hopefully Adele will show up and bring some relevance to the show. Breezy is my dude but it’s crystal clear Soul Train showrunners want them some ratings. It’s all good though.

    MY PREDICTIONS:

    Best New Artist: Miguel

@Army Of Queen A (Aaliyah) & Queen Bee (Lil Kim) >>>>>>>> Your Fave !

You got some damn nerve calling Beyonce & Chris Brown and flops when your plastic filled fave hasn’t even released an album in years! She is too busy singing songs by other artist on party busses and releasing bootleg mixtapes on Pay Pal claiming it sold over a million downloads! #LIES!!

F.A.M.E. debuted at No. 1 and is currently the second Best selling r&b album after Beyonce! Both of their albums debuted at No. 1 and are currently in the Top Ten Best Selling albums this year according to Billboard! BOTH of them have been performing at Awards shows and sold out concerts!

Meanwhile where is YOUR fave?! What is she doing besides being salty that Nicki stole her shine?! When is she gonna release an album?! How many awards has she been nominated for recently?! If Bey & Chris are flops, when they actually have music on the charts, then what in the actual f*** is Lil Plastic surgery a.k.a Bitter Kim?!?! B**** boo!

Girl sit your bitter ass down some where and stop hating on artist who actually have successful careers!

  35. noodles October 21, 2011

“Chris Brown ‘Runs’ Pack”….well he runs everything espically R&B and Urban in case you didn’t know lol.

Chris will take home 2-3 of his 5 nominations atleast. I more concerned about him winning his AMAs this year though and maybe getting some Grammy nominations.

Why did this Lil Kim stan just say F.A.M.E flopped but her fave sells albums or mixtapes (or whatever the f*** she does) on Paypal. Lmao…lets not even go there sweetheart.

  36. TYLER October 21, 2011

HOW THE F*** IS KELLY ROWLAND GETTING NOMINATED OVER KERI HILSON WHEN KELLY ALBUM IS STILL @ 181,186 COPIES AT LEAST KERI DID 300K…

  37. TRUTH October 21, 2011

Who the f*** is Tyler and how many albums did you sell. Get outta Kellys ass!

  38. Theman October 22, 2011

Adele,Beyonce,Chris,Kelly,Ledisi,Jill,Marsha deserve awards. Oh and Miguel and Marsha deserve best new artist. They both have great r&b albums.

    @VA STAND UP!!!

You didn’t see it last year when R. Kelly burned the stage down followed by Ronald Isley of the Isley Brother who along with Anita Baker were awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award? Now shame on you *Breezy voice* 🙂

Really, last year was the 1st time I’ve watched the STMA since its return a few years back. I will be watching this year however…..GOOO CHRIS! 🙂

  42. mobwife (takin’ heads) October 22, 2011

    @noodles

I don’t know how I feel about the AMAs after they “allegedly” pulled that fast one last year and gave Chris’ award to Usher! Since Usher and his mentee are scheduled to perform, I’m not holding much hope for a different outcome alhough I continue to vote and ENCOURAGE ALL #TEAMBREEZY to vote for Chris to win.

I wonder when the Billboard Music Awards and Grammy nominations are coming out? Didn’t I hear something about the People’s Choice Awards nominees? Was there a post that I missed? When did they come out?

  52. Clark Smith October 22, 2011

I disagree. I and most professional critics hail 4 as Beyonce’s best work today. The merit of an album is not measured by its number of hit singles.

  53. Muzic October 22, 2011

I don’t understand why Adele is up there. Yeah for the most part music is to break color lines, but aren’t the purpose of these awards to make sure “our” artist of color get the recognition they need and deserve? Believe me Adele is getting hers! To add musically “4” is better than “Iam..”, it’s just not as commercially successful. That doesn’t mean that it’s not good. In my opinion It deserves to win actually.

  54. Army Of Queen A (Aaliyah) & Queen Bee (Lil Kim) >>>>>>>> Your Fave ! October 22, 2011
