Scherzinger Shows Her ‘X Factor’ In GMA Performance

Published: Wednesday 12th Oct 2011 by Sam

Nicole Scherzinger has spent the last few months judging the talent of others on the X Factor USA. However, the Pop trier is still attempting to break ground solo ground Stateside, following a slow response from the US audience.

Taking her cause to Good Morning America today, the 32 year old served up a rousing rendition of ‘Don’t Hold Your Breath’ – a cut from her ‘Killer Love’ LP.

Check out Ms. Scherzinger in action below…

Great performance, although I’m left scratching my head at the handling of her promo.

Like really, what is her single in the States? She’s performing ‘Don’t Your Breath’, while earlier reports suggested ‘Right There’ was the current single, then ‘Wet’, then apparently new cut ‘Try With Me’.  All this ambiguity while the album has seemingly run its (relatively successful) course in Europe, and sits unreleased in the US.

It’s clear her team are trying to stall until the X Factor live shows start (see: major performance slot). Yet, if you ask us, this project has been dragged on for so long, she’d have been better off launching an entirely new album to coincide with X Factor; and deeming ‘Killer Love’ a Euro-only release.

It’ll definitely be interesting to see how this all plays out.

Don’t Hold Your Breath is he second US Single, Right There was the second and it peaked around 60

Wet is the fourth European single, whereas Try Me Out might just be a rumour or something for her Deluxe Edition?

I can’t stand this girl one bit. She gives me that, desperately-clinging to youth feel. We don’t like her in the United States Simon Cowell, accept it. She was good with her group, and she should have stayed it in instead of trying to go solo.

Ofcourse Right There was the first single, typo

Right There was her first US single, and it peaked at #39. Don’t Hold Your Breath is the second US single.

    Amazing performance, btw!

Nicole has had the unfortunate situation of being promoted improperly. She has had a couple of good songs that if promoted better, could have been hits. She can have hits with PCD, but they were pop/urban. There’s a lack of identity. They keep trying to make her sound like what is trendy. To be honest, I like some of her unreleased stuff like the duet with Sting (Power’s Out), Steam and Supervillain. I can’t get into the new material. It baffles me because I remember when she was in Eden’s Crush, see older footage of her on youtube. She knows how to sing, she can perform. She just needs better promotion, confidence in herself and stick to what works.

    Underrated

I like this song. The performance was just okay. She needs to step it up a bit if she really wants people to pay attention. Honestly, if this album doesn’t do well, then there’s no hope for her as a solo artist in America because being on X-Factor is the biggest promotion any artist could ask for.
