Taking a break from retooling her ‘Glassheart’ LP, Leona Lewis graced the stage of Germany’s X Factor, treating the Deutsche audience to a hair-raising showing of 2008 smash ‘Run’.

While the song choice was somewhat random, it was definitely welcome. For, it served as a potent reminder of the music Lewis should be making – instead of the dollar-store Euro-beats she’s all-too-good for.
With the direction of her album now up in the air, she’d be well-advised to follow the Adele model. An artist whose undeniable talent allowed her make a record which, in staying true to her own sound and creative gut, has managed to stand out among charts full of generic.
On the basis of her voice alone, Leona really could and should follow suit.

It was a random song choice. Leona should be pushing promotion for ‘Glass Heart’. However, as always, Leona slayed. Nobody can deny her vocal talent.
Started off kinda rough…or maybe its just my laptop. Her voice sounded a little shaky.
And did she have a nose job?? She looks different to me for some reason. Maybe its the make up. Either way she looks good.

Leona is a VOCAL DIVA! This song was chosen since up until present, it’s doing well in the German Itunes Chart. I really fell that she’s ditching the edgy-ala-Rihanna/Beyonce this time especially that’s she’s moved the release of her 3rd album. Notice that she’s dropped the full bangs look in all the recent events she has attended. Also, she has been dressing up in a more glamorous and diva-esque fashion as supposed to the edgier colorful clothes, which to me is an indication that the album might be reassessed into a rather more glamorous, classic, yet pop-commercial one rather than just simply dancey and generic. I LOVE LEONA LEWIS and she DESERVES to be on top again! The 3rd album will be EPIC. This time for Leona to continue recording will not be wasted.
Beautiful, talented lady but the most boring chic in the entertainment industry. She should never sing these kind of songs until she establishes herself in the industry. Their trying to force feed a weak “Whitney/Mariah from the 80’s wanna be” down our throats and it’s not working.

Pure Talent and she’s beautiful
Great vocal performance. No one can deny it. But really, this song is 3 or 4 years old and she performed it exactly the same. Those type of things also gives you how much of an artist somebody is. A really huge natural talent destined to be a legend would have performed it different after 3 years. New arrangemets and new vocal acrobatics. I keep saying she is not gonna make it. Sorry

Hopefully she will follow the Adele method. He voice is made for big legendary ballads and there’s nothing wrong that she cannot do dance music. Ballads is what she does best, so why try to fix her method, when it’s not broken.
I think her problem with the second album was that it wasn’t promoted well. She’s very beautiful, humble, and talented. Leona is not boring, just because she doesn’t take off her clothes and sing dance pop music, doesn’t mean she isn’t interesting.
Leona has an great instrument and I want her to use it more.
It’s cool to experiment with sounds but ballads show off her beautiful vocal dynamics.
Her voice is one that shouldn’t be wasted in this industry.

She sounded okay. Shaky in her lower register in the begining, and pitch control issues throughout. Shes no Mariah…..and YEAH, she’s BORING!

I’m a huge fan of Leona Lewis, and lets be honest, Spirit was FULL of ballads, so she was doing the ‘Adele’ route, before Adele even was!
i think shes got an absolutely STUNNING voice, and she doesn’t need to show it off all the time, it would be nice, but it could fade if shes constantly trying to hit massive notes, i.e Mariah Carey, IMO her voice has faded somewhat. maybe not to everyone else, but i dont feel her voice is as spectacular as it used to be.
To the people saying Leona wont make it, what do you call over 9million albums sold, a sold out UK tour, over 40 number ones, every single bar one in the top 10, and number one album and single on the top on both sides of the Atlantic? i dont call that a one hit wonder by any means, i call that an international superstar, who has the longevity, marketability, and likability that someone with such a voice deserves, and should possess.
She performed the song on German X-Factor because it’s been HUGE there for awhile now. I believe it’s been charting for 84 weeks now and after numerous talent show performances of it, she decided to perform it.
I think this was originally promo for GlassHeart but with her going in the studio to add more songs to the album and fix a couple things for the next few months, I guess she decided to perform Run.
And I don’t think she’s changing GlassHeart, just adding more songs (and probably axing Collide off it) since it was originally going to be 10 tracks. Quite a few people who’ve heard the material said it’s her best work, dark, and full of emotion and that Collide wasn’t a good representation of where the album was going. My guess is they’re adding more songs but also going to restart the era at another time where the market isn’t so busy and actually release a lead single that represents the album better.
Voice of an angel, flawless. Her voice is at its best the sky is her limit the song choice is cause she pushed the album back to the begging of next year and just because she doesn’t get drunk and come out of taxis with no knickers on like lindsay lohan, britney spears and some others doesn’t mean shes boring, just decent and classy. No one can fault her.

she is no wannabee she is a world class singer and if anybody knocks this young woman its out of jealousy. I believe she is a better vocalist than adele but has suffered because of going through the x factor route and winning it, there are a lot of people in the industry who resent that, and adele has had a lot more promotion than leona for her album which is sad. Adele has always said that she loves to listen to leona’s songs.
She also had a bad cold during this performance. Just sayin.
The song choice is in fact not that random. While ‘Run’ was a massive #1 hit here in 2008, it only reached it’s peak position of #3 late last year after being performed by a contestant on the German version of Got Talent. She hadn’t really promoted the song there since it was originally released and considering she doesn’t have new material (apart from Collide, which wasn’t a hit in Germany), ‘Run’ was the most obvious choice.
