X-Factor 2011: Eliminations (Week 2)

Published: Sunday 16th Oct 2011 by Sam

The X-Factor 2011 saw its 2nd set of eliminations tonight. Find out who’s heading home this week…

{For those unfamiliar with The X Factor, the show is the UK’s version of American Idol – with a twist in that groups and over 25’s are eligible to enter. Now in it’s eighth season, the show is responsible for birthing the careers of Leona Lewis, Alexandra Burke, and JLS. Its US incarnation launched last month FOX}.

After registering the lowest public vote of the contestants, Nu Vibe and Frankie Cocozza were two acts put on the chopping block.

The weekly sing-off proceeded with Nu Vibe taking on Cheryl Cole’s ‘Promise This’, while Frankie sung Daniel Merriweather’s ‘I Can’t Do This By Myself’.

In the end, it was Frankie who was granted a pass onto next week’s show, after all judges, except Nu Vibe’s mentor Tulisa, opted to save him.

The X Factor continues on ITV1 next Saturday.
