X Factor Drama: Eliminated Act To Be Voted Back In!

Published: Wednesday 9th Nov 2011 by Sam

If  you thought the UK version of the X Factor couldn’t get any more bonkers this year, it has. For, following the wholly necessary axing of controversial contestant Frankie Cocozza this week, it was announced moments ago that one act will be voted back in on Saturday night’s show.
Full press release after the jump…

Via ITV:

PUBLIC VOTE FOR FOUR ACTS IN CHANCE TO RETURN TO THE X FACTOR

The four X Factor contestants who have never faced the public vote after being eliminated by the Judges in the first Live Show have been given the chance to return to the competition this Saturday (12 November). With a place in the show up for grabs following Frankie Cocozza’s departure, the public will be able to decide via a phone vote which one will re-join the competition.

The four contestants, one from each category: James Michael (Boys); Amelia Lily (Girls); 2 Shoes (Groups); and Jonjo Kerr (Over 25s) went out of the competition when the Judges decided their other three acts should stay.

The act with the most votes will re-enter The X Factor and perform live on Saturday night’s show alongside the six remaining acts left in the competition.

An X Factor spokesperson says: “The four acts have never been in a public vote so, with Frankie leaving the competition, this is an opportunity for the public to decide who comes back to  the show.”

To find out who will be returning, tune in at 8.15pm on Saturday night on ITV1 as one of them performs either a Queen classic or Lady Gaga hit on the famous X Factor stage. Only one will get a second chance.

Though the show is almost becoming a bad mockery of the fresh concept it once was, this is one twist we somewhat welcome. That is, of course, as long as Ameilia
Lily
wins the comeback vote.
Whatever the case, there are clearly many a lesson for the show’s producers to learn from this instalment of the show. None more apparent than the fact the average viewer is tiring of the pointless twists and turns which weed out the talented and keep in the wackness so as to generate press.
At this rate, the producers are practically handing the The Voice UK an audience. An audience all too eager for a show which focuses on the talent and not the theatrics.

definitely not fair to Johnny and The Risk, one of these acts should’ve been brought back. those other 4 acts have skipped 4 weeks of the competition, and now they’re gonna be brought back in in the middle of the season, while Johnny and The Risk have worked hard all this time.

they should give sophie habibis another chance

Johnny and the risk cant come back because they had the least votes and at least the ones who were axed in the beginning can get another chance as the way they were booted off the show was totally unfair. It may also give the show another ‘lease of life’. Amelia should have never been axed in my opinion.

It is not unfair as these acts never got voted of by the public but by the judges. They never got a fair chance in the first place. I hope Amelia Lily is voted back as she reminds me of a young Christina Aguilerea.

What i think is unfair is for a new act to join the show halfway thru, if d judges chose other acts over them then obv they werent outstanding. If anyone should be back its Johnny i dont care mch tho, im lol-ing at how much of a farce this show esp this year. Hopefully its curtain call. Take a bow SyCo

Amelia Lily needs to come back ASAP!

It would be very embarrasing for the ‘programme’ if the returning act won!! The producers really should honour the hard work of the contestants who have been performing each week. Maybe it is hard to decide, but perhaps the logical choice is Johnny.

Don’t forget that ITV’s hit drama series Downton Abbey’s season 2 finished last week, echich was before X-Factor. Many people left their TV on X-Factor after the show. NOw there is no more Downton Abbey…

This is so unfair to the acts that have been performing every week now. They should have just left the acts they had left. More publicity for X Factor I guess.

Amelia deserves to come back she was awesome, but I don’t get it, how will people be able to vote? Will all 4 acts perform on saturday or what?

  15. hmm November 12, 2011

The logical choice would have been to let Johnny come back since there were 2 acts eliminated instead of 1 or to simply not vote anyone off for the week. It is hugely unfair and disrespectful to the acts who have worked their asses off for five weeks. If one of your faves goes home tomorrow because of the twist..let me know how awesome it is to have her back on the show.
