Despite ending her ‘Sale El Sol Tour’ in Puerto Rico last month, things have been a little quiet on the promotional side for global songbird Shakira.
However, all that changed yesterday when she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame for her contributions to Pop music the world over since her international debut in 2001.

I LOVE Shakira, but I had to read the title twice…I can’t believe she’s being honored that soon 😐 Anyway, granted that they are letting so many people get their stars on the Walk Of Fame nowadays, she’s one of the artists that deserve it.She’s an icon for Latin Americans, she was a leader back in 2001-2005 and she had a lot of impact, so it’s great.
The strange thing about Shakira is that she hasn’t had a smash hit for a long time, but people are still checking for her 😀 I hope she delivers with her next single.I really hope it will be amazing 🙂

Yea i coulda sworn i heard Shakira was gettin that star few years ago. One of the comments says she turned it down so it all makes sense now. I find that Shakira is in general very overlooked.She has sold 70 million records worldwide but she just isn’t as successful as she used to be in the US.That’s all.She’s still huge in Europe and Latin America.With the right material, she will excell in the US too 😉

The success she’s had is because of her producing, writing, and singing skills that she has crafted her own hits. She is her own woman. triple threat. I <3 her!

I love Shakira. I started to listen to her when she was just a local act. I never thought she would be that successful. Although she isn’t a good singer, she is an amazing performer and incredible songwritter. I have seen her performing many times and she’s the best. Actually, she’s the 2nd best performer of our generation, only behind Queen Bee of course.
