After spawning a plethora of #1s on the Billboard Hot 100, Katy Perry‘s latest album ‘Teenage Dream‘ has made quite the impact on the charts since it hit stores last summer.
Now, in a bid to further cement her status as this year’s singles queen (sorry Rihanna) Perry has released a brand spanking new video in support of the project.

This video slays. From the trailer it looked like WFL part 2 but I’m glad it came out completely different. I’d say this is her 3rd best video after ET and LFN. It will definitely boost this song to #1. Katy did great!!
I look at Katy & Rihanna as pretty similar in terms of scoring number one hits, following the same model. But for some reason Katy doesn’t have to release albums as fast. Her albums tend to spawn more singles. It may be because she actually has a hand in writing her own music.

Not a Katy perry fan but she’s really winning me over, this song is awesome!!! Ever since “if we ever meet again” I’ve loved every single. Rihanna is the new king of pop!!! I heard “u da 1” on the radio for the first time and almost creamed my pants!!!

Amazing!!Alongside with ‘Thinking Of You’ and ‘E.T.’ this is her best video to date.It’s moving, very personal and heartfelt, it has a great concept, great direction, great colors, great editing, a great overall video 😀 And it doesn’t lack the wow factor by any means.So, the guy dying and then his ghost appearing in the end was not WOW enough?? 😛
I’ve noticed that when Katy does the conventional pop songs, I dislike the songs and the videos (and her for that matter 😛 ) but when she releases a slow song or a track that is lyrically and sonically different, then I like her…Let’s hope for less generic material in the future, then 😀
