  2. Roman December 18, 2011

Agreed, except WFL should have been in the top 10, but it was a late release so its understandable…

    Congrats Minaj =D

  3. Lebo(CaribbeanBOi) December 18, 2011

HAAAAA!! KELLY IS #5 F** ALL YOU HATERSSS !! YESSSSSS … I LUV IT !!!

    I LOVE YOU KELLY #TEAMKELLY

  4. MinajManiac December 18, 2011

TGJ only listed the pop, hip hop and rnb songs on the list.

    ALL HAIL QUEEN NICKI!

  5. YOOSONDALOOSE December 18, 2011

Well done everyone, Nicki deserved that!
Britney shouldn’t be that high! No way!
    But well done all!

  6. Rihalla December 18, 2011

I would expect crappy post from samantha but this is just terrible all it took was copy and paste and you couldn’t do it but I digress so far I disagree with this list completely

    *sips tea*

  7. dreamlover December 18, 2011

Lies! Best songs of this year are Man Down and Set Fire To the Rain.

  8. RoyalKev December 18, 2011

This list is just awful. Tbh, Bey’s RTW should replace ‘Countdown’, if it’s really a list put together based on impact (and I actually like ‘Countdown’ better). Adele’s ‘Rolling in the Deep’ should have ranked much higher. Britney’s HIAM should have replaced ‘Til the world …( and again I prefer the latter). Where’s Katy Perry? …(and I’m not even a fan). Kelly Rowland #5, OKAY. Rihanna’s ‘S&M’ should have made the list (and I hate that song).

Just shows that clowns are really running things.

  11. Dev December 18, 2011

    Huh!!!! Nicola Roberts!????

The world is really coming to an end.

  12. KAT DELUNA FAN December 18, 2011

the list is a HIGH DEGREE MESS

    PLAIN RUBBISH SMH

  13. KAT DELUNA FAN December 18, 2011

THEY ALL LOOK A HOT MESS IN THIS PIC

    ALL 4 GIMMICKS

IS THIS THE NEW FACE OF THE GAME???????????? SAD

  14. ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) December 18, 2011

Congrats to all the acts that made it on the list, but the criteria are unspecified, so I can’t really take it seriously. What is the rationale behind the choice??Sales, quality, genre? And please don’t tell me that the same person who voted Nicki Minaj’s ‘Superbass’ also voted for Radiohead to make the list 😉

  15. ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) December 18, 2011

P.S : So glad (and shocked) for Nicola Roberts!!’BOMT’ is one of my favorite tracks of the year.

Also @KAT DELUNA FAN Exactly!I thought the same thing tbh 🙁

  16. NICK December 18, 2011

    all right NICKI!!!! cute list-

  17. jill December 18, 2011

Nicki number 1? Its quite funny because when nicki performs live, people don’t really clap loud or scream……. for example Victoria Secret that was a hot mess…….

Them four chicks up there, look like clowns……shame.

I hope R&B comes back with a vengeance.

  18. gio88 December 18, 2011

    KELLY RULEZZZZ

  19. JohnVidal December 18, 2011

This is the list I was refering to the other day!! A JOKE
First of all, despite being from Billboard, these are not the 20 most successful of the year, just the 20 best of the year for Billboard critics. Like I said the other day they should stick to gige the info about the charts and numbers and that´s it. Cos WHO in their right minds would pick a Nicki Minaj song as the best of the year??? Specially Superbass??? When this list is supposed to be about quality??? LOL
At least “Someone like you”, “Rolling in the deep”, “Edge of glory” and “Holocene” are in the list. But seriously “Till the world ends”??? “Look at me now”??? “We found love”???
Hell probably not even “Motivation” or “countdown” deserve it, but at least they are good. But those generic songs I mentioned??? Who the hell are these Billboard critics??? Thank god Billboard is about facts and numbers and we don´t get to hear their critics too often…

  20. xedos December 18, 2011

the only good thing about this list Gaga is not on it.

  21. YOOSONDALOOSE December 18, 2011

Well done Kelly, just saw that! She must be happy!

  22. jamir21 December 18, 2011

Congratulations to all who made the list !

    Haters Gonna Hate….Never Appreciate !

  23. jamir21 December 18, 2011

But they could have replace “We Found Love” with Man Down, S&M,

or California King Bed they were the most biggest songs of this year !

  24. Kyle December 18, 2011

Till The World ends is such a good song. Its so unfair that the Grammys changed the rules in the dance category otherwise it would have been a contender. If it really is about rewarding the best dance songs of the year it shouldnt matter if you are a pop artist or a dance artist/DJ everyone should compete and the best wins

  25. Lax December 18, 2011

Why or some of you not agreeing with Billboard when you Brag to hight
Heavens if Billboard is Uping your “Fave” The list is just a list just like all
of our comments toward each others and each other Fave Artist. While Rihanna has her share of Generic Songs she sure is not listed on that List
along. Of course if you let some people tell it she put out nothing but Generic Music. And do check out the List of the top Ten Songs of the 2000’s.

  26. NT December 18, 2011

The top 5 were some of my favorite songs of the year . Really good job to Britney and Rihanna had the longest running No.1 of the year she should be a little higher.

  27. JonathanLGardner December 18, 2011

    HAHAHAHAHAA

QUEEN KELENDRIA STAY SNATCHING YOUR FAVS!

    STAY PRESSED!

WHERE ALL THE RIH STANS AT?

    POAHODFQHOFENHFFOINM

Gorl only barely made it into the top 20 and y’all wanna act like she’s the Queen of Pop

    *DEAD*

  28. june December 18, 2011

Man down & California was a flop, We Found Love is at the top of the charts that’s why its on this list. Rihanna should be higher tho…. oh well…… The Throne should be #2 everyone loves that song…… Nicki shouldn’t be #1 Superbass was pop trash…….

You can tell that music isn’t what it use to be, clowns taking over music. The industry should be slapped.

  29. jamiie December 18, 2011

    @
    JONATHANLGARDNER

    True, Rih Queen of non-singers…

  30. THE REAL TYLER December 18, 2011

    YES KELLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I WILL SAY THIS, IM NOT A STAN HOWEVER I FEEL THAT ROLLING IN THE DEEP SHOULD HAVE BEEN #1 THAT SONG WAS THE BIGGEST SONG THIS YEAR HANDS DOWN!

  31. Those That Cannot Do, Stan December 18, 2011

I’m a little confused by what went into structuring the list but not by what was #1. That song really did make an impact, whether or not people like it, two pop stars of completely different genres repped it, little girls singing it on YouTube…even websites that had nothing to do with music named it as the song everybody and their momma was singing.

Anyway looking back 2011 was a good year for music, a lot of great genres, a lot of great music, I hope 2012 is even better.

  32. JP December 18, 2011

Billboard continues to find ways to become less and less credible.

No way can I believe this list was compiled by objective critics. It seems more likely the list was bought.

Adele def deserves to be on the list, but some of the entries discredit the legitimacy of the list all together…so it doesn’t really matter.

  33. Steph December 18, 2011

Yayy! Kelly Rowland so so happy! Motivation is still on billboard!!! YES!!!!

  34. RDK December 18, 2011

jill go up a hill a fall down and break your f-cking neck…anyways gratz on alll who made the lest, and nicki i see you keep locking it down am so proud of u,and f-ck you all who is saying nay..you f-cking haters is always press over some sh-it sigh it got to suck to be you all.

  35. Im The Original Doll !! December 18, 2011

    Britney >>>> CaCa >>>>> Beyonce ! <3
    That`s it, b****!
Britney is the queen of pop !

  36. haterzstaypressed December 18, 2011

Nicki’s song had the most impact this year. Love or hate her, she slayed the charts as the most charted female emcee of all time. Congrats to Nicki and to everyone who charted!

  37. pop royalty ( year OF 4 ) December 18, 2011

this list is NOT the business ! i like NM ! but c’mon child , it’s f*****’ adele’s year and you give it to “s super bass” ?! 8o

    like what the actual f*** ?! 🙄

anyway , i’m really saddened by every f*****’ list that was released this year !!

    but congrats to R , B , LG and A !

and this pic make them lookin’ like they just finished performing their numbers at for cirque du soliel !! 🙄

  38. antertain December 18, 2011

Wow @ Nicola Roberts awww good girl (even with those stiff moves)

Congrats to Nicki. Hard work has paid off so far.

    Glad for Kelly Rowland

  39. KylieciousRevolution December 18, 2011

Hmm I kinda understand this top 20, except for Britney. Okay, it’s a club banger, but I don’t really think it should have been so high.. Happy for Kelly Rowland and especially for Nicola Roberts, I really adore her album!

  40. mobwife December 18, 2011

The people over at Billboard are obviously smoking DOPE by the TRUCK LOADS!

‘Super Base” is the worse song of 2011 WTF? It is obvious that Adele’s ‘Rolling In The Deep” should have won that honor. Birdman & Mack Mane over at the new industry scam makers YMCMB must have paid a mint to get this honor! This is an outrage! I will never again give a damn about anything the jackasses at Billboard have to say! This travesty is further proof that the music industry from the record labels to the controlled music media is bought and paid for.

So ladies and gentlemen, SCREW the right person(s) or shell out the most MONEY and you too can be a S U P E R S T A R!! 🙂

  41. number1k9 December 18, 2011

Oh hell no, no J.Lo/Pitbull #OnTheFloor!

    But Beyonce’s #Countdown.

    Yeah OK…

    #FAIL!

  42. NAUDISWEET (Xtina Stan) December 18, 2011

That pic right there shows how much the music business is in the gutters. i don’t mind the costumes, but its like the music has become secondary to the image. Sad 🙂

  43. mobwife December 18, 2011

WTF, A** Ocen is at #6 well damn why not just put Jason DUH F*CK NO there instead? How did they decided on ‘Countdown’ by Beyonce? That of course is my favorite song of the ‘4’ CD but why not RTW? WFL by R****** is at #20 huh…LOL how did that happen? And N***** In Paris REALLY Billboard?

Anywho..CONGRATS: Chris Brown, Kelly Rowland, Adel, Britney, Bon Iver, Beyonce & Radiohead!! Damn the rest..LOL 🙂

  44. MISHKA December 18, 2011

I’ m happy for Queen Bey but the list makes NO sense to me.

  45. Onyx December 18, 2011

We found Love is crazy, everytime i heard this song in the club i lose my mind, but my favorite FEMALE song of the year, i say FEMALE OK, is “The Edge of Glory” by Lady Gaga, this kills me “Another Shot Before with Kiss The Other Side” and this “I’m Gonna Run Right to, to The Edge with You”. Oh! God.

  46. Beud December 18, 2011

so pround to be Kellys Fan,, congratulations…..

  47. Angela Wesley December 18, 2011

I an not a Chris Brown fan but I am glad for Chris and Kelly because they
deserve it. Both of them were count out of the music game. They
prove everybody wrong especially Kelly. People said that Chris Brown
and his team were fools to invite Kelly on his tour but it was a win win
for both them. In Beyonce case Best thing I never had was a better
    song than countdown.

  48. Yellow Gorillah December 18, 2011

    =|

Superbase……….. really LOOOOOOOOL! Hmm wow ok

WFL was a late release so I’m not surprised it was low..I think that they got all the good songs but they places some of them in the wrong order but ohhh well … it’s their OPINION on the best track’s.. Don’t understand why people frustrated because their fav was not included in the banner. I guess sam only wanted to put the pop girls who dominated this year #Oops

  49. Theman December 18, 2011

    Adele is #1 altogether……………

  50. Scars December 18, 2011

YaY britney & nicki are the best of 2011

  51. Kayla December 18, 2011

damn..ik yall nicki minaj haterz is FUUUUU-RRRRI-OUUUUUS!!! it’s okay,in about 10 years her fame wil tone down!!

  52. oop December 18, 2011

    Where’s Kim?

  53. The thing about 2010&2012 December 19, 2011

Adele will never have another year like this again.
I swear the artist they cram down our thoughts now a days are terrible.
Beyonce is only up here because of her name.
Kelly Rowland has way better material on her past two albums than motivation….it sucks it took weezy and an tired over sexually. Charged song for her to get some shine.
Rihanna could sell 10 million in one day and I still wouldn’t respect her( Why would you Stan for someone with no talent?,kids these days)
Britney Spears should the cast of the walking dead. She is so lifeless and boring now and her music sucks unless you’re an gay male or an teenager
Born this way brings to mind a picture of Richard Simmons and a group of fat chicks working out.
No artist brought their A game 2010,or 2011.
    This list SUCKS

Gaga changed her style musically and lost her edge.
Beyonce tried to be deep and it turned to be an bore
Britney’s stiff ass already couldn’t sing so now what is the point
Nicki bit lil kims style mixed it with weezy’s and missy and added pop and became beyond annoying (Mixtape Nicki Slays)
Adele served up an rehashed 19 and called it 21(her dress size at 12)
Rhianna…While I have an love/hate type thing with her because her songs are catchy has been walking around all year an drunk h*****. Infected mess..who could be out entertained by the just about anyone.
Katy had the singles lacked the album sales

These last two years have me scratching my head like WTF?
2012 IS OUR LAST YEAR ON EARTH SUPPOSEDLY….THESE ARTIST NEED TO GIVE US QUALITY JUST IN CASE LOL

  54. Bow Down to The Perrylicious… (The Queen of TGJ) December 19, 2011

    SUPERBASS???????????????????????????? REALLY????

    WOW

IF SUPERBASS IS NUMBER 1 THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE BOTHERED PUTTING BEYONCE, FRANK OCEAN OR ADELE ON THAT LIST CAUSE THEY AT LEAST MADE PROPER MUSIC THIS YEAR AND DIDN’T GO WITH WHAT IS CONSIDERED HOT

  58. VenPaync June 15, 2012
