Traditionally R&B without being dated, the cut is a lighter alternative to Kelly Rowland‘s ‘Motivation‘.
This by no means make it any less of a song, but makes for much easier listening, walking the thin line between sensuality and audio pornography with ease.
Impressive on both a vocal and production front, ‘Did That‘ is the first number released by Mari that doesn’t wreak of desperation- see ‘Cause A Scene‘- but rather cements her status as one of urban music’s worth while entertainers.
We only hope it is supported by a video that showcases her ‘crossover look’ while endorsing a number of 90s R&B sensibilities.

not feeling the song but i feel like she has an ok voice and she is very pretty so i think with the right marketing she has a slim chance to be at least moderately successful but rnb which i love to death isnt a huge genre like it used to be so u have to bring it u can’t bring a mediocre rnb cut and think it will get airplay in 2011-2012 has to be really hot to get noticed

All she needs right now is a SIGNATURE in her looks, her hair, her wardrobe, her delivery, whatever! that thing that would set her apart from all the other chicks. Once she finds it, it’s a go!
The song is most def growing on me, and I agree with what was said about her only needing a “cross over” appealing video which would sell the song. This video HAS to be HOT!!! Not skanky, but something s*** and beautiful…I know Reco will bring out the best in her. He’s a smart business man.
