Ashanti brought her New York hustle to LA today when she stopped by Access Hollywood.
The singer, who is now signed to her own imprint Written Entertainment, chatted it up about going independent, the politics at a major label, her new single ‘The Woman You Love’, Beyonce’s new baby, and more.

@REBECCA Ashahti is far from fat. She probably weights less than you. But anyone who came hear just to see if she talked about Bey is very sick in the head. If you “don’t like her” or she a “flop” then don’t click on anything about her. Anyway I can’t wait for her to release more music that she created herself. Get that check from your own record label on top of your publishing girl.
These are artists are dumb if they are only concerned about itunes. Hit songs are huge, but album sales are most important. Itunes is a small small portion of album sales. She needs her album in the stores, the phyical copies. Those count the most. Itunes album sales are rarely big the first wk, they don’t carry to much weight. Alot of people just cherry pick cheap singles. It’s gonna be hard for her, but if she gets the hits then she’ll be good.
I like Ashanti…. But to have me search for this interview and for her not to talk about Bey….well TGJ Im upset….LOL.

@TheMan she IS releasing the album in stores. That’s what the distributor E1 is for. I’m sure the deal with Itunes is to ensure that she benefits from ANY sales she may get from it and to ensure a nice profit in-case she should have a big digital single.. or multiple.
