Alicia Keys, the Queen of New York anthems, was the perfect choice to help celebrate the city’s biggest basketball moment in decades.
Full story below.
The performance came as the city continued to trumpet the New York Knicks’ championship run and their first NBA title in more than five decades with a parade.
Although she proudly supported the team throughout their entire playoff journey, Keys turned things up a notch when she took New York City Hall to perform the 2009 #1 hit ‘Empire State of Mind’ on Thursday (June 18).
Sans JAY-Z, Alicia was joined by thousands of energetic fans including Mayor Zohran Mamdani who gathered to honor the Knicks’ historic victory.

This wasn’t great, but it wasn’t horrible considering it’s Alicia Off-Keys. Believe it or not this was probably one of her better performances.
