With Christina Aguilera‘s latest single ‘Love Your Body‘ expected to make its debut any time soon, the buzz surrounding the project and its supporting album have undeniably reached fever pitch within the last week.
Set to hit stores in coming months, the yet to be named album will arrive two years after the release of ‘Bionic‘, the entertainer’s fifth and most heavily debated LP to date.

A feature on the LP’s deluxe edition, many could be forgiven for not knowing that such a song even exists.
Indeed, despite standing side by side with ‘Beautiful’ and ‘Voice Within’ as being one of Christina’s more heart felt ballads, ‘Stronger’ felt the full wrath of the media’s blacklisting of Bionic and thus found itself fading into obscurity once the project’s plug was finally pulled.
Showcasing the vocal restraint many accuse of the performer of not using enough of, the number’s slow but powerfully sincere start makes Aguilera’s trademark belting style toward the end of the cut all the more enjoyable.

‘Glam’
Undoubtedly the closest thing this generation has to Madonna‘s ‘Vogue‘, Glam– in our opinion- could have easily restored interest in ‘Bionic’ had it been the given the single treatment and a supporting video equally as innovative as the track itself.
Almost as though she found a way to channel a Neon stained Tokyo night and compress it into a 3 minute long song, Glam‘s dreamlike backing track and couture-centric theme makes it Christina’s strongest dance effort, far superior- dare we say- to the well produced but poorly received ‘Not Myself Tonight‘.
So, what about s** 4 Breakfast? that is her best song shes made since her stripped era.. f*** all deez other songs u named…cant wait 4 new music!!!! =]

Glam was originally the first single, IDK why they went with NMT. Bonic is filled with great songs, it just lacked cohesion. ‘Bionic’ was my favorite album of 2010.Anthemic, uplifting (even in the ballad section), humourous, fresh.There is no song on the album that I dislike!!Every single track is amazing!!I wish it had been a longer era, but Christina had been recording for 2,5 years, so after so many interventions, the label ruined it for her with their awful decisions 🙁

Once again, every time something about Christina Aguilera gets posted here her fans start to trash talk Lady Gaga. For those who think Lady Gaga is a failure, her album (Born This Way) has sold nearly 10 million worldwide. Thats a flop? Her singles after Born this Way did not get to number one, but you have to look at the big picture. Radio is bias and plays what it wants to play. It does not mean anything anymore. Nonetheless even if Born This Way only sold five million, xtina fans calling it a flop would be insane given the fact that bionic still has YET to sell one million units.
You want to know whats a failure? A bunch of Xtina stans who pass blame on why an album (Bionic) fails. It failed because it sucked. Perez Hilton did not cause it to fail. His opinions of her were based on everyone elses opinions. Do you really think an asshole like him is capable of thinking for himself? He makes money because he latches on to anything that is successful. Doing that gets his site hits, which gets him advertisers, which gets him money. Plain and simple. Stripped and Back to Basics were heartfelt albums. She says her next one will be heartfelt, but with a lead single called “F**K Your Body” I find it hard to believe that it will be heartfelt.
If Bionic was entirely her decision then she needs to take responsibility for that. If that is not the case and if it is what RCA wanted then she needs to leave RCA. If her next album turns out like Bionic then that really is her problem, even if its what the label wanted. This is because she could have put of a fight, even take legal action, and terminate the contract. If the next album is like Bionic (in terms of commercial performance) I am pretty sure she would be dropped.

bionic had a lot of great songs on it. i dont get how bionic has such bad reviews yet other albums, which are far worse and lyriclly have no value in the songs, get great reviews. is it that they hold christina to another level over some1 like a britney or rihanna? i mean yeah girl can sing, but that doesnt mean that she should have to subject herself to singing mariah/whitney/aretha/adele type songs for her whole career. anyways, there are far more great songs on that album, s** 4 breakfast, lift me up (which should have recived a grammy if not at lease a nom for best female pop vocalist) and you lost me. this album, unlike many others, spoke about having fun, up lifting ppl (in a fun athem way n ballad format), relationships (the good and the bad) s**, motherhood. s***, she even pimped out her own son to be on 2 tracks on the album. not myself tonight, though not her best, was not played on the radio, yet it had a great 1st week response then all of a sudden dj’s stopped playing it all together. something is fishy about that, if u ask me. n bad publisity, words getting turned around n being miss used diid not help her out at all n just what ppl wrote about her on the blogs n nasty s*** n stuff taken out of contect (ie gaga has balls meaning she is ballsy not that she is a man)

Ahh Bionic. Both my favorite and least favorite songs from Xtina came from this album. I still dont know how I feel about this album. The ballads slayed me(You Lost Me is my favorite Xtina ballad), but I didnt like the up-tempos except Elastic Love, Prima Donna, and Glam. The out come of the album could have been better if RCA and her had chosen better singles. Plus I feel like she gave up on the album too soon.
I have high hopes Xtina and RCA will pull through this year and deliver what the fans want.

Yo bitchs take a seat. Bionic had some amazing songs on it, but it was incohesive, insincere and poorly promoted. I hate it when Xtina stans whine about how it was not promoted enough- Not Myself Tonight was everywhere, but the public expected something better from the one-time Voice of the generation than an awesome-but-unoriginal club banger with a plagiarized music video. You Lost Me was a terrible second single choice, it simply wasn’t bold enough or as sincere as it could have been, moreover, I believe it was summer in the US back then. Not to mention the music video was very ruminatory.
Lady Gaga did not set the industry against her; it was Xtina’s diva personality and lack of awareness of the pop scene (“I live under a rock”) that was her downfall.

I barely listen to any music on pop radio because of how mediocre and repetitive some of that crap is, but it blows my mind that the critics blasted “bionic”, when it can’t be any worst than some of the garbage I’ve seen hit #1 on the charts. These other female pop stars can get away with being ridiculously over the top and raunchy but Christina is supposed be all conservative and deep because she has a superior singing voice. What a load of crap! Bionic wasn’t a bad album, it just needed some songs edited out.

I get irritated at how much britney gets away with. The girl’s damn near lazy! She does barely anything in the studio or on stage anymore but because an army of stylists, trainers and dietiens make her look nice, people call that a “comeback”. At the end of the day Christina is better. She’s never had to resort to an all new level by selling any album of hers for free just to sustain sales. She’s never had to slash the price of any of her singles on itunes, amazon, google, etc…just to help boost chart positions.
Christina is not in Britney’s shadow. Britney is under a conservatorship for Christ sakes! She has no control over her life, career or money. She barely has any input in her music, stage prescence, costumes, etc…At least Christina doesn’t need to get anybody’s permission or approval for anything. 3)getting swept up by how she liked the track and forgetting that it was rushed

6)not ditching her label when they rejected her 1st lead single, a track called ‘Lollipop’ written by Sia.

Next, Britney has sold more because she has more albums and singles out than Christina. But Christina is going to have her time to shine this year and remind us why we fell in love with her.
The media has always viewed Christina as a major threat to everybody else because of her voice and music which is why they always pit her against everybody else. When you have a voice like Christina’s, that leaves little room for other female acts to make break their way into the industry and nobody likes that.

I LOVE bionic and found myself listening to it on repeat for a long te when it came out. I do think it was weird how it seemed to be doing fairly well on the radio but then. something happened around the time woohoo was being released as a single.

The quality of the song writing in that album is mediocre at best.
christina aguilera recored 1 of the most powerful ballads of the past decade with so much meaning that is still played on the radio, 10 yrs later n sung all the time. and if christina was truly in britney’s shadow, well i rather be there winning the top awards and getting the honor by thelegendary singers. britney came 1st thus why she got the most success. the xtina, then jessica then mandy as we saw, the success went less girl after girl. but to say she is in her shadow is dumb bc christina has 5#1s, all of which were #1 for 2+ weeks, best new artist she won over britney, praised for her live performances, by her peers n critics alike, performed along side many great singers, performed at the superbowl twice(thought 1 was an epic failed) sung the national anthem 2 times for the 2010 nba finals, sold out tours etc. won a vma b4 britney. anyways, 2 different artist, 1 took control of her career n made artisitc music, the other released album after album to try n get a hit, n make great club music. chris was queen of the singles while brit was queen of the albums. none of britney early music gets any type of air play today while u can still catch what a girl wants n run to u n dirrty n of course beautiful any day as well as the back to basic stuff. they dont play oops, or baby or against the music or s****. so being in the shadows shows that it may be better bc it means ur music lives on 10 yrs later n not for the moment

I remember TGJ rated/review Bionic with 4stars. Sam personally love this album, but… then he always bring all the floptina BAD NEWS on his blog to make dem money of someone’s misery. But thank God now thing has change… more positive post & anxious waiting for Miss Aguilera’s new single/5th album. 😉
the only reason why bionic flopped is because number 1 christina’s marriage was falling apart and number 2 the burlesque movie….christina aguilera focus more on her burlesque movie and forgetting about promoting Bionic. Its her first movie and putting all her energy on the movie alone, she got really excited about the movie but to tell you honestly i think bionic was one of the best albums of 2011 next to katy perry and adele. She doesnt really care about the sales anymore because she is established already…i think she is the only artist that sings year after year at the grammy even without promoting her album…all those tribute to other legends just proved that she is something in the music industry. Rated XXX- Christina got her record deal by taking a tape recorder into her little bathroom in Wexford Pennsylvania and singing a Whitney Houston song, hitting the high E got her the song “Reflection” for the Mulan Soundtrack, which got her a GOLDEN GLOBE Nomination (her first of 2) at age 17 before even being signed, (THAT’S a true cinderalla story on how to get a record deal) Now… IMPACT: I listened to a lot of different s*** growing up. Christina was one of them, and Christina is also one of the only ones I continue to listen to a decade+ later. Christina’s talent and quality, relateable music will be listened to and supported by me no matter what age. Especially “Stripped”, the music and the message is timeless. Are people going to seriously be listening to Gaga’s repetitive nursery rhymes in 10 years? I’ll be jazz-ing it up to “Back to Basics”, working out to “Fighter”, getting dressed to “Not Myself Tonight”, “Vanity”, “Glam” etc consoling relationship blues in “Walk Away”, “Impossible”, “You Lost Me”, “I Am”, “I Will Be”, “Bound To You” (want me to go on?)…I will not be fist pumping to “Just Dance” or singing “Government Hooker” or any of that “music”. You will all grow out of your dance music phase, I promise. Luckily for me Christina’s work is timeless no matter what genre she’s dipping into. & she always makes sure to include those amazing ballads.
Christina works on her music genuinely and takes her time, draws genuine inspiration and takes time off to live her life and then draw from her experiences in her music and vision. She doesn’t write songs in “5 minutes” like Gaga claims just to write songs and release albums every year. Christina is NOT/never has been in this industry to be like Britney, to have the #1 most selling who-gives-a-s*** award, she’s here to sing like she has been since she first picked up her moms shampoo bottle and pretended it was a microphone and a towel spread across the floor was her stage. She’s just here to sing and express her artistry. If a child prefers a public relations cooked up fraud clown with a lobster on her head (copied from Isabella Blow, by the way) like Gaga, you go right ahead. If you can’t listen to “Stripped” and be inspired, connect and hear the true sincerity and pain/beauty in those songs she created it’s no wonder you’d probably rather vibe out to some crap like “let’s have some fun this beat is sick I wanna take a ride on your disco stick”.
Now what’s with this lyrics/albums before have no meaning BS? You say you have Stripped, I think you need to listen to it again. That entire album is one big emotional “love yourself, be yourself, respect yourself, be proud, wear what you want, say what you want, be strong, be an underdog, you’re BEAUTIFUL” statement. the 1st album she was able to write her own songs on and truly show herself. (hence the name/concept thought up by her, STRIPPED) Literally the only song that isn’t would be “Dirrty” which was more of her shedding her skin and not being afraid to be a risk taker and be herself, which management wasn’t letting her be before, which is why it was the lead single basically. Everything else is f****** solid & you know it. Stripped is everything “Born This Way” was desperate to be when it comes to message. Now, wtf at “promo interviews dissing gaga”…All her interviews from Bionic era where she was ASKED about Gaga she PRAISED Gaga, she said SO many nice things about Gaga and she even released a statement on her own website saying there’s room for everyone on our ipods and we should all support all the strong women out there (what did Gaga do/say? nothing, like always, she had Perez do the s*** talking for her while she remained silent)
Christina has 5 Grammy’s, first American artist to ever win a Latin Grammy, she was singing the National Anthem at Pittsburgh Penguins (including being the Penguins good luck charm in the Stanley Cup finals when she was NINE YEARS OLD), Pittsburgh Pirates, singing/acting/performing on National TV on the Mickey Mouse Club, winning Best New Artist Grammy over Brit a few months after she came out with Genie in A Bottle and getting her 1st Golden Globe Nom unsigned, tributing Whitney Houston (who said “nobody can do it like Christina”) Her tribute to James Brown is one of the top performances in Grammy history, still being asked to tribute legends like Aretha Franklin…You act like Christina has something to prove, but she’s already established. Even Mariah had her flop with Glitter, both the movie & album, so bad that Mariah got DROPPED from Sony. She bounced back, so will Christina, and Christina has not hit the lows that Mariah & Britney have (both checking into mental health facilities). She is recognized & respected in this industry in a way that Britney never will be in forms of talent, hard work and plain legitimacy. & no I don’t hate Britney. Numbers arguing can only get you so far, there’s always someone with better numbers, but arguably/obvious less talent.
it’s a ridiculous claim that negative press doesn’t affect an artist’s record sales; especially when it’s relentless, manufactured and highly exaggerated. with christina it was digging up feuds from many years ago, peppering remarks xtina made regarding gaga to exploit an already sticky situation brought on by the false claim that christina was ripping off gaga when the opposite was true.
add to this vertually no press attention at all for ‘bionic’ from magazines, tv celeb shows and other media sources once christina’s personal appearances for ‘bionic’ stopped.
the media pitted christina and britney against one another from the gitgo and britney was always the media fave. they had strong hopes of her becoming the next madonna.
during britney’s meltdown the media rode her ass for short time until they saw her record sales (blackout) were seriously heading south. they eased up quick and deluged her with pity praise. the music industry climbed on board with pity awards by the truckload. the media gave her a pass even though her tour performances were/are pathetic and total crap.
they hyped her to kept her relevent halted her career from the severe downward spiral. if she sneezed or shed a hair it was “icon britney this…”legend britney that”. amazing how many can be sucked in by hype (or in christina’s case scared off).
christina hasn’t been blessed with the acts of mercy bestowed on britney. they’ve pummeled her non-stop. they’ve inflated every misstep to ginormous proportions(the star spangled banner and the aretha franklin tribute).

there was lack of promotion of Bionic because she had her own idea for bionic back in 2007 and started with “Lightness & Darkness” but had to scrap most of the material and start again because RCA Records wanted her to compete with interscope and gaga so refused to do a lot of promotion because it wasnt the concept she wanted and she wanted to be distanced from mainstream music

You guys need to read ‘Is Christina Aguilera The Wicked Witch Of Pop Music’ . When I read it, it dawned me on how xtina’s image has been dirtied so much in the press.

She released the video (which besides it being obvious, she stated was her homage to Madonna, because she was her pioneer for being a strong woman/freeing her inhibitions and not feeling shame for expressing her sexuality…see, she gives credit and reasoning behind her inspirations, unlike gaga ms. “I make my own clothes, no one inspires me I’m only inspired by myself etc”) and the Gaga comparisons hit full steam ahead. Despite the fact that the video was Madonna. How funny is that, that a video homaging Madonna, gets called out as a Gaga copy LOL inadvertently proving Gaga is a complete Madonna wannabe. But when you’re a 12 year old and actually have the lack of self respect and personal integrity required to embarass yourself by calling a 23 year old hack job your “mother monster” and yourself a “little monster”, I guess you wouldn’t remember Madonna’s work or even bother trying to do any actual research before you believe some paid gossip blog’s swayed opinion.

Bionic is, in my opinion Christina’s strongest album. It was the first time she really took risks with her actual music, she went experimental & had fun with it too!
Bionic was a narcissistic, bold & arrogant album, but that was the point of it! The whole thing was unapologetically loud from start to beginging.
Personally my favourite tracks were Bobblehead, Birds of Prey, I Am & Vanity
Bobblehead was a complete hot mess, but that was exactly how it was supposed to be, everything from the lyrics to the beat just oozed trash & tack, I think that was the beauty of the song.

1)Why is Beyonce’s name being brought up in a post that has absolutely NOTHING to do with her? I see she STAYS on y’alls minds!
2) Bionic was a TERRIBLE album. The only song I half like on that album is “Woo Hoo”. The songs are very basic and Christina showed no artistic growth what-so-ever!
3) At the end of the day, regardless of what Perez Hilton or anyone else says, it is up to the public to buy music. And obviously the public felt that Bionic was not worthy of their hard-earned money.
4) Christina is an amazing vocalist. However, her vocals aren’t cut out for electro pop beats and dancehall music. She needs to stick with what works for her and stop trying to be something she’s not.
5) You can say all you want about Lady Gaga, but at the end of the day, she’s relevant and found success in her own right. Bashing her on a blog site is doing nothing but maybe making a few people mad and making yourself look dumb, ESPECIALLY if all you have to say are insults. If you’re gonna debate with someone, bring something more to the table than “She’s ugly, dumb and stupid”. Remember, you represent your fave at ALL times. Try to sound like you have some education.
6) I sincerely wish Christina the best with this upcoming era. Her best album IMO is “Back To Basics” and I would love to hear some good music being played on the radio again. <3
Bionic was the 2nd most illegally downloaded song of 2010 – nuff said haters.
“Bionic” really wasn’t a terrible album by any means, it just came at perhaps the worst time possible. Some of these tracks could’ve easily been hits but instead they chose “Not Myself Tonight” as the first single? Terrible choice. Another thing that didn’t help this albums cause was that I think Christina’s image was too similiar to Gaga’s and whenever she was asked about it she would give a snotty response.

Nope, you are wrong about “whenever she was asked about it she would give a snotty response”. in many Radio Interview when she promote Bionic, they asked about GaGa comparison many many times… & yet she’s not being snotty at all. in fact She’s being supportive of GaGa.

BIONIC was a good album but its a thing of the past already. I’m looking forward for her new album! 😉
