As earlier reported, the incomparable Whitney Houston is making a return to the big-screen in ‘Sparkle’. The Voice stars alongside Pop starlet Jordin Sparks in the 00’s adaptation of the 70’s classic, which is set to hit theatres on August 10th.
Peep this newly released HQ press shot (via PEOPLE), which shows 48 year old Houston in her best visual form in years. Here’s hoping her vocals are as stunning. We’re rooting for her!

According to extra’s who worked on the flick Whit’s voice aint like it was back in the day but it’s supposedly stronger and better than the lame 2009 ILTY cd. They said overall, everyone on set was impressed. She better quit the smokes for real.
Sony Pictures budget was only $10 mil for Sparkle… so not too hard to make the money back and make profit. The Akil’s (The Game) do ok with low budget flicks. Their previous flick Jumping the Broom only had a $7 mil budget but because they have a talented cinematographer, the flicks visualize as having waaaay more than $7 or $10 mil budget range but appear more like $25-$30 mil range. Then again, Precious only had a $10 mil budget and it won a ton of awards…
I hope this will be great and we will go out and support Whitney and Jordon.. i sure knw i will
