Christina Milian Signs New Record Deal

Published: Sunday 12th Feb 2012 by Sam

It’s been a game of hop, skip, and jump for R&B belle Christina Milian in recent years.

Ditched by Def Jam in 2006, the 30 year old moved to the ill-fated MySpace Records, only to leave for The-Dream‘s Radio Killa imprint in 2010; a move which also saw her jump the broom with the hitmaker.

Yet, predictably, that deal spoiled when their marriage did, leaving Milian – once again – without a label.

However, in a testament to her infallible hustle, ‘The Voice’ star has inked a new recording deal. Find out who it’s with after the jump…

Speaking at the Young Money / Cash Money Pre-Grammy Party last night, Lil Wayne announced that Milian was the latest signee to the Young Money roster.

The mother of one joins the likes of Wayne, Nicki Minaj and Drake at the label, which is distributed by Universal Republic (Universal Music).

As ardent appreciators of what Milian presents as a “package”, it’s great to hear that she’s found her footing. Here’s hoping that she is both handled well and brings her A-Game with the material, as this could very well be her last swing of the bat.

Let’s hope she comes back with some great songs. I really liked one of her latests, Us against The World, but it was never released on an album.

  2. KAT DELUNA FAN February 12, 2012

Yes l finally a happy fan.She took the right decision. She needs to make sure she is the #1 priorities for her people.

l want Kat to sign with them too 🙁

I think this is a DOWNGRADE.

Why did she do that? She was not in a hurry to have a record deal, she has child support + the ‘Voice’ deal.

She should have awaited a little bit more. The fact that she’s on Ugly Money while Aubrey O’day is on Universal, Cassie is on Bad Boy and Kreashawn on Columbia doesn’t sit well with me.

I’m happier with Ashanti starting her own label.

    Not suprised.

    CAREER STANDSTILL!

If they havent noticed…. in order to be successful on YMCMB you have to have a following to promote yourself on! You have to push yourself. I dont think she got it.

Us Against The World was a GREAT SONG! So I got high hopes for her….Young Money is just S*** To be honest unless your Drake nicki Minaj or wayne himself..Hope they at least give her the promotion she needs.

I think its a good look. I am sure her album will be full of hits and collaborations which will only serve to help her.

  8. Sleazy February 12, 2012

I hope they actually use her Look at poor shanell the poor girl is signed so long and she has one video out?

  9. CURLY SUE February 12, 2012

GOOD LUCK TO HER. SHE ACTUALLY HAS A DECENT VOICE, CUTE BUBBLY PERSONALITY AND SHE CAN DANCE. SHE’S LIKE AN AFRO CUBANA MYA!

After hearing Nikki M sing on the David Gurtta track i think she has a better voice than Christina M.
Christina’s voice is just too basic for me.

Wayne will get her pregnant in 5 months. lmfao

Her career will have a 15 minute clock like all those Young Money artist until the next big thing. See Murder Inc

Really Christina, really??? When they can’t even get Shanell’s career off the ground properly? One of them’s gonna take a back seat as far as focus is concerned.

The question is, which one is it gonna be?

I am just sick and tired of reading random reports about Christina Milian trying to still make it. She’s 30 for crying out loud and a mother! She doesn’t have a strong enough voice to be a singer and really can’t dance well.

Just hope this time she isn’t “efff-ing” with her producers/business ppl/Lil Wayne. Since she is known for doing that.

BUT, why would Lil Wayne sign her? He already has Shanel SnL as Young Money’s R&B artist, who has yet to release a single/song?

I’d be pissed if I was D.Woods lil sister, Shanel!

I bet she is probably dating Birdman or Wayne. She has a well publicized history of screwing producers for tracks. I just hope she learned from her past marriage that it takes more than that to be successful. Props to her for being ambitious but I don’t see this deal as good news. The only people affiliated with that label who seem happy are Wayne and his baby mamas. Drake is trying to get out of his 360 deal and Nicki is hang her celebrity in other arenas to make money.

WOW. That is good for her, but I can’t see coming back, sorry had to say it.

    @KATDELUNA

Kat has already signed to A1 music, and ViVa is coming May 1, 2012. Plus, her Japanese tour is going to work in Junes.

She’s starting to work hard. If you listened to “Paradise” and “The Last Time”, she’s very well-developped now!

    Don’t worry about her, she’s a gangster.
