Melanie Fiona Wakes ‘Kimmel’ Up With ‘4AM’ Performance

Published: Tuesday 28th Feb 2012 by Sam

Soulful songbird Melanie Fiona continued along the promo trail last night, stopping by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform  current single ‘4AM’.

The stirring cut, which we can’t get enough of here at TGJ, has had a slow ascend since release in August. Yet, in rather apt timing (given next month’s release of its housing album ‘The MF Life’), the track is picking up  (and fast) at Urban radio . A bounce-back which has seen the cut rise to #11 on the Billboard Hip-Hop/R&B tally.

Watch Ms. Fiona soar with a haunting live showing after the jump…

Boasting a creamy yet gritty vocal, both of which are delivered with much conviction, Fiona continues to show why she’s such a compelling package. Here’s hoping the masses take heed to this when ‘The MF Life’ drops on March 20th.

    She’s so underrated.

But once again, she’s a true artist who wants to make things her way, even if that implies less mainstream exposure.

Congrats on your TWO grammys, Melanie!

@ Mishka, I agree with you completely. In an interview, Melanie recently said she would rather be underrated than overrated which made me LOVE HER that much more. I think this girl was meant to perform. She always brings her songs to life. I can’t wait for the new album!!!!

I don’t think she is underrated, she is just making r and b. Who is making true r and b that’ s actually selling nowadays, r and b music is damn near dead.

Beyonce made a r and b album and it’s her lowest selling album to date. The market isn’t there imo, i can see why people like Usher and Neyo are moving away from the genre.
