The ROC just got a whole lot bigger.
That is- if a report by our friends over at XXL is anything to go by. For, earlier on today, the publication reported news that will have Shakira fans buzzing and beaming the world over.
She has allegedly signed to Jay Z‘s Roc Nation.
Details below…
The superstar Colombian singer has signed to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation for management, XXLMag.com has learned. The Latin Diva has been under Sony for over 15 years.
The news definitely marks a coup for Roc Nation. With worldwide appeal, Shakira has sold more than 60 million albums and won 12 Billboard Latin Music Awards, eight Latin Grammy Awards and two Grammy Awards.
With the signing to Roc Nation for management, Shakira joins the likes of Rihanna, Wale, Santigold and Melanie Fiona, who are all signed under Roc Nation’s management umbrella. Managed producers under Roc Nation include Jahlil Beats, No I.D. and S1.
With some reports indicating the diva has departed from Sony, we can’t wait for confirmation on this new deal.
Because, as the masterminds behind Rihanna and dare we say Beyonce‘s ‘4‘ era, Shakira really is in safe hands, if she has indeed signed to the management company.
Whether she’s left Sony or not, here’s to an exciting new chapter for the Colombian star and her fans alike.

What makes ya’ll think she departed Sony, ya’ll do realize Roc Nation gets distribution though Sony right as far as the record company side. The article says they manage her now which means they will probably set up her tours for her due to the Roc Nation/Live Nation thing, Live Nation is the biggest concert promoters in the world.
Roc Nation is making big moves, they’ve signed Deadmau5, Chase and Status,etc. They’ve really tapped into the international market and it looks like Rita Ora is about to blow up too.
