New Video: Jennifer Hudson & Ne-Yo ft. Rick Ross – ‘Think Like A Man’

Published: Wednesday 29th Feb 2012 by Rashad

After nearly a year hiatus from the music scene, looks like ‘Spotlight’ singer Jennifer Hudson is ready to get back in the spotlight with the Ne-Yo and Rick Ross-assisted ‘Think Like A Man’.  The lead single from the soundtrack of the Steve Harvey book turned movie (also sharing the same title), funny man Kevin Hart (who also stars in the film) guests the Chris Robinson-directed visual.

See JHUD and co get down with the get down.  It all awaits below:

Guess Clive is really amping Jhud to ‘step-up’ her diva.  If such is the case, its working!  Good to see her step a little outside of her comfort zone into a two-step here and there.  Hopefully, this is the beginning of a more relaxed Jen.  A Jen, of course, that doesn’t become too involved in the choreography because such is certainly not her strong suit – it just helps enhance the show.

Either way, if radio had sense, the song would be a hit.   The surprising compliment of Jhud’s voice with the knocking beat and inclusion of Ricky Rozay and Ne-Yo make this a homerun.  The video…well it served its purpose.  Nothing spectacular, but certainly gets the point across.

Love it, After seeing her performance in this video, Im for sure she would do Whitney Justice in her movie, since she is really the only one who can act and sing Whitney Songs, Great Job, Jhud and Neyo…Let the hating Start 1..2..3..

Love this. This is music. Cute video…Can’t wait until J. Hudson’s next album. So underrated.

Neyo does a good job collaborating with female singers and rappers. In some shots he actually is attractive in the video.

    Rick Ross is dope too.

I like it but yall made it seem like she was giving me a single ladies dance or something lol…I wouldnt even call that dancing or moving, she gave a few steps…Good job Jennifer… I seen Kelly Rowland in this 2:57-2:58 yay cant wait to see what this movie gives…

JHud is not underrated. She needs to learn how to sing. I’m sorry but a good voice doesn’t guarantee a great singer. JHud still sounds like an amateur to me.

She slayed som1s whole acting career(if thats what u call it) in the opening segment….Get it JHud!

This a good look for her. I’ve always felt watching her was like watching paint dry. But she has loosened up in this video & in her vinterviews now. She is showing personalty. I guess Clive is trying to make her the new Whitney.

But with that said. My prayers are still with her & her family with the trial coming up for her Mother & nephew’s tragic death. I feel U J-Hud…

@LadyGagaWarriorQueen: Take that crap s*** outta here, real music head don’t want to hear that s***** artist GAGA, stupid gimmick, move!!! WACK!!!

Anyways, I’ve been bumping this track from time, and everytime I listen to it, it gets better and better, I think Ne-Yo should produce the next Jennifer Hudson album because Ne-Yo knows how to kill quality R&B tracks point blank!!! Love the video, simple and straight to the point. Good job Jennifer, Ne-Yo, and Rick Ross!!!

It seems like the feel-good-black-movies-and-great-soundtracks are making a comeback. And I’m allllllll for it.

Jennifer is great. I’m glad she’s getting more comfortable in her own skin now. I hope her next album shows some progress 🙂

Regarding the song, I would enjoy it MUCH more without the so-called “rap verse”. Jennifer and Ne-Yo both did a great job, though 😎

@HAZEL I disagree. Whoever plays Whitney will be lip-syncing! Why does everyone think that that they will actually sing her songs? No one can sing like Whitney. They need a great unknown actress to play this part. The person does not need to know how to sing.

Ok JHud we see you. Anymore dancing than this would have looked foolish. She’s clearly not a p-popper but I like the song and the video delivered and makes me want to see the movie even more. Thanks booskies!!!

  24. Ange March 1, 2012

This is a sensational song and video. This video is so slick, it really is magnificent. I love the chemistry between Ne-Yo and JHud and I like the rap verse too by Rozay. This HAS TO BE NUMBER ONE!! Excellent song.

  25. JohnVidal (RIPWhitney-true great) March 1, 2012

Surprisingly this really works. I liked it and Jennifer sounded like she was not screaming. NeYo did great with this
Now, sorry but why are a FEW people so obsessed with putting Jennifer and Whitney Houston in the same sentence??? Hell no, she is not that type of VOICE and megastar, she doesn´t have it to be a great. End of
    But really liked this
