Once again Beyonce shows there’s little she can’t do. For, a month after giving birth, the singer has scored the first Billboard #1 single from her ‘4’ LP.

After 26 weeks on the tally, the Destiny’s Child alum has seen her hit ‘Love On Top’ land the top spot on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hip Chart; her 6th #1 on that count.
The impressive feat serves as a fitting finish for the song’s Platinum housing album. Indeed, the ‘Run The World (Girls)’ led LP set off to much turbulence, after club cut failed to ignite the charts, and subsequent singles fared only marginally better. Promotion also seemed sparse and sporadic, although the 30 year’s pregnancy would later explain why.
And, yet, amidst all this adversity, ‘4’ has landed comfortably on its stilettos. Clearing the way, for Ms Knowles to strut all over the competition (once again) on her next outing. An outing we hear sets sail late this year/early next. Bring it on!
Well, congrats to her, but that’s not among my fave songs off “4”.

It’s interesting how audiences perceive artists so differently. I give Beyonce’ hell, but I would never give Ririsha better record sales – but since “4” simply isn’t a good album, I can see it. Beyonce’ has gotten to the point in her career where she believes that, “as long as I make it, they will buy it” and she’s taking risks that simply suck for her.

The R&B charts is so lonely over there that the only mega star on there is Beyonce so it make sense for her to jump to the top on there. This is one of my favorites from “4” and I’m glad it hit #1 the R&B Charts. It’s something new and refreshing for Urban radio since they mostly play trash.
Beyonce is 30 and does not have to do what artists in their early to mid 20s do. She doesn’t even need Hot 100 hit songs to have a successful era. She’s married with a child and still selling records platinum plus. One of the richest artists in the business on her own. She’s usually one of the most successful touring acts when she tours.She doesn’t have to make another album for the rest of her life and she would wealthy. She’s a smart business woman can’t say that about many artists.

It’s a myth that touring boosts album sales, unless you’re being exposed to a new crowd that wasn’t already checking for you. Playing a festival with a bunch of different artists from different genres may boost your sales, but when you do your own tour, you’re preaching to your own choir. Rihanna didn’t outsell Bey because she was on tour, RIhanna outsold Bey WW because she had a massive hit (WFL) and was coming off of a massive era (LOUD).
Anyway, congrats to Bey. LOT, Party, and Countdown are the singles I like on 4.

TTT has sold that 2.3M WW in half the time it took 4 to sell that 2.6M. TTT will be well over 3M WW in the time it took 4 to sell 2.6. Rihanna sold that 2.3WW in 3 mo. with 1 hit single and virtually no live promo. You can’t even count the number of times Rihanna has performed WFL live on one hand. Meanwhile, Beyonce performed selections from 4 everywhere from GMA to headlining the biggest music festival on the planet. So, we all know who’s getting the most traction out of their promo budget, and it aint Bey.

Also I think “4” is one of Bey’s better album she has done. I wish she would have release “Dance for You/Schoolin’ Life/I Was Here” as single”s too. “4” was a great body of work and I’m disapointed it didn’t recieve better reconigintion of what it should have. Beyonce’s vocal’s was out of this world and the songs were amazing. Beyonce chose not to do the same ero pop autotune mess that most Rhianna/Katy/Ke$ha/Britney as others did with that autotune/studio sounds, Beyonce use raw vocals and didn’t necessary go for that club autotune/studio sounds. People like Beyonce/Monica/Brandy/Mary J. Bliege/JHud singing real without the help of autotune just seems to be push aside because they aren’t doing what seems tobe popular to the dance fame.

Its no myth at alll. Touring helps album sales. Just this week, rammstein performed in dublin n their album jumped to top 20 on itunes it wasnt evn top 100 b4. After Jay n Ye announced their european tour dates, WTT climbed on itunes too n it’ll likely do climb higher when they do perform here

I think 4 is beyonce best album and compared to the rubbish generic club tunes rihanna, I rather buy 4 several times. This is my opinion. There will be a time in her career (rihanna) where she would have to stop putting garbage out. There will be a time, when everyone get tired of dance music and s** music and rihanna. Again this is how I see things going.
No point putting beyonce down for NOT making “popular” music. She has been putting out popular music for years. 4 is refreshing, I honestly thought she would jump on dance trend in her album. The only fault beyonce has made is releasing that rubbish song who run the world, she shouldn’t have put that crap song in the album. She should have released “countdown” as first song. When she released who run the world tune that put off a lot of people.

And that’s supposed to be a problem? Sounds like smart business, to me. Don’t be mad at Ri because her team knows when to release to maximize sales. Regardless of when the album was released, it still sold 2.3M or whatever WW in half the time it took for 4 to do the same. Maybe next era, Beyonce will release around Thanksgiving and have better sales.

I’m not changing up, anything. TTT will outsell 4 in another 3 months. RTWG was supposed to be Beyonce’s WFL, but it FLOPPED . . . hard. She had no massive single to sustain sales album over 3 mo. like Rihanna, and all the live promo she did, didn’t do much to sell the album either. Beyonce’s most successful promo for this era was her pregnancy.
WFL came out 5 mo. ago and it’s still top ten on BB Hot 100. That’s what’s selling her album, radio. The ratio of album sales to money spent promoting favors Rihanna. Deal.

1+1 : Just a music video.. there was no need for that promotional-single thing. And Columbia are ass kissers. Just when they released it as a PO, they couldn’t send it to radios there was “B.T.I.N.H.” there.. It DEBUTED at number 57 without even airplay, so they were SO STUPID not to send it to airplay.
I Care : It’s one of the vocally strongest songs Bey ever did, but I can’t imagine a music video for it.. or being a single.. it just gotta be a track on that album. But that L@R cut live video was great job.
I Miss You : Just like “I Care”, but maybe it could be featured on a drama movie soundtrack. That would be great.
B.T.I.N.H. : I guess it should’ve been the last single, not the lead, because it’s so much more enjoyable on these rainy days.
Party : Releasing it Exclusively on Urban radios was the right choice. It’s just too black, and wouldn’t fit in Pop radios.
Rather Die Young : It’s MAJICAL.. It’s arab, hip-hop, pop, latin, 80’s, 90’s, 20’s all together.. I’m still amazed by her L@R performance..
Start Over : Yeah, just one of ’em tracks.
Love on Top : THIS IS THE REAL S***. I’m almost crying ’cause it’s not being sent to Pop radios. I mean, “we don’t want it to mash up with EOT on the pop radios” .. I said ASS KISSERS .. She just performed it live and it was #20 the next week .. How DARE you not release it on pop ??? It should’ve been the second LEAD single actually.
Countdown : Look, it was released officially as a single, but I don’t even know one good reason why it flopped. It performed good on the Hip-Hop and Dance charts, peaking at #12 and #1 .. but did HORRIBALLY worldwide .. It flopped where it was released, and charted where it wasn’t .. ABUSING.
End of Time : Oh honey, you should’ve waited for another 9 months , so it could have enough time to be COVERED with dust in the room .. Releasing it as the 5TH single?? What the hell are you thinking now?? You should’ve waited until our mouths BLEEDED begging you. Now what?
I Was Here : Look, it should’ve been a single .. maybe the 3rd or 4th ..
Run the World (Girls) : This song should’ve been treated so special..
1- Add it to a Hip-Hop dance movie like STY or SU.
2- Release a KILLER video on DVD.
3- Invited a RTW(G) dance , taught in clubs and everything.. Like “Whine Up” (both of ’em #29)
I know it was a worldwide smash, and top10ed in a lot of countries, and charted very good .. but you should’ve NEVER released it as a single. It’s enjoyable as a dance, not a single.

“Love On Top” has always been my favorite song from ‘4’ (also love “Party”) so I’m glad to see it reach the top of the chart. They’re only a few potentially crossover/ radio hits on the album. It’s obvious that most of the album was NOT made with ‘crossover’ or mainstream in mind as a goal. So ‘4’ is doing what it’s supposed to do, having a lot of success on the R&B charts. Her last three singles (LOT, Countdown, and Party) have been at least top twenty R&B hits with LOT now going to number one and Party peaking at #2, all three songs received little promotion, just airplay. When you factor in album sales it’s a highly successful R&B album, bottom line.
