This week’s From The Vault pick differ from previous editions, in that it comes in the form of a commercial. But not your typical commercial. No. Try the mother of all commercials.
Featuring an all-star cast of leading Pop megastars, we are talking Pepsi’s 2004 Gladiator campaign.
With such venture, Pepsi Co hit the nail on the head in more ways than one. Using a reworked version of the already immense ‘We Will Rock You’ by Rock outfit Queen, the commercial for many is Pop “nirvana”. In that it brought under the same arena four of modern times leading acts: Latin heartthrob Enrique Iglesias, Pop-royal Britney Spears, Rock-chick Pink, and of course Ms. Sasha Fierce herself Beyonce.
Journeying back to the Roman Empire, our three heroines join forces to take down General Caesar. Each of them are afforded ample time to shine; with Britney serving up sex-appeal in earnest, Beyonce displaying ‘Diva 101’ and Pink repping for the rock community with her trademark “power rasp”. Like the adorning audience, we ate this up!
From the faultless casting to the impeccable cinematography, the big-budget affair is a prime example of the force Pepsi the brand is and how it operates to stay relevant to its younger generation – after many a successful past campaign with the likes of Michael Jackson.
EPIC, quite literally!

Never saw the commercial in full, only extracts. Decent commercial, but despite all the superstars they can afford, Pepsi still can’t outsell Coke.
I still wish they Had “WWRY” full (recording) version! All three look HOT in there & definitely better than recent Pepsi commercial.

Wow! I remember this commercial. Definitely one of my fav commercial. This was bac when B was just starting her Reign and Britney was a Dance Machine. Wow! That was a long ago lol Anyway i liked the B and Jlo one better!

Beyonces skin tone and body knocked The other ladies down to the ground. P!nk’s voice stood out the most and was the best for this type of theme. Pepsi made great commercials until they did 2011 Superbowl which made black women look angry and jealous and inferior. I try to avoid Pepsi products now

That’s an old ass commercial. I think it was actually in ’03. It’s nice to see that each of them are still having success today in 2012. God knows that’s amazing in the music industry.
If my memory serves me right, this was Britney’s last commercial with Pepsi and Beyonce’s first.
Beyonce was brought in to replace Brit-Brit, whose was fading already.

SAM make a “From The Vault” of the Pepsi Commercial of Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez and David Beckham, J.Lo overshadowed Beyonce and PLEASE put the behind the Scenes when Beyonce is talking about how much she admire J.Lo and how excited she was of working with her OH! and don’t forget to put the Picture when the two show their Butts.

Jlo and beyonce does not sing in that commercial! From the vault is ABOUT artists from the past and their videos! Sam is FAIR on this issue because he doesnt just talk about beyonce, he also talks about other artists in the past! Plus this post is not just about beyonce, it is also about britney and pink!
So do one and stop being pressed over beyonce! She SLAYED in this commercial, so what? does that mean this will affect your favourites? NO! move on! Beyonce will alway be around whether you or I or anyone else likes her or not!

Damn, Britney is so s*** and effortless in this. Beyonce looks good too but she kind of looked like a cow drinking the pepsi and Britney is so much more sultry and seductive the way she handles that can. Pink has a good voice.
