As one of the founding members of Destiny’s Child, LaTavia Roberson‘s dismissal from the group is just as ‘confused’ today as it was in the heat of the group’s first split.
Whether she was pushed or jumped remains to be seen, however- there is no denying the impact her leaving had on former manager Mathew Knowles‘ public image.
Indeed, despite the success he later went onto have with the group’s remaining members, he became Joe Jackson 2.0 in the eyes of the public- accused of manipulating those around for him for his own personal gain.
Now, in an interview with our friends over at Kempire Radio, LaTavia opens up like never before, weighing in on Mathew, Beyonce and her short lived success in the group.

Latavia I am all for you but you must stop talking about this issue. This is in your past and stop referencing to it, MOVE ON! I mean it has been over 13 years since this incident occurred and you still are mouthing about. Make a note to yourself to stop doing press on issues that happen over 13 years ago and have press surrounding your current music situation. Don’t always be known as the girl that got dropped out of Destiny’s Child and that being the only reason press wants to interview you. Be the star “LATAVIA ROBERSON” with a #1 solo album and #1 single. If you would take as much time that you do that you do these stupid interviews you would have had a #1 album like Letoya by now. We’ve all heard Latavia’s take on this matter before. Letoya Luckett moved on and found her own solo success. What is the next chapter in your book, Latavia? It’s 12 years later! There is no Destiny’s Child now. Beyonce went on with her life. Kelly is establishing herself outside the group as well. I haven’t heard of Latavia doing anything outside of that group Agel (she first started with LeToya) that never got off the ground. I’m not being funny, but the next time she made headlines it was for being an alcoholic. She should dust herself off and try again and get out of the mental rut she put herself in. Turn the damn page! I’d love to support her in something new, but I won’t if I only see her taking this walk down memory lane.

I loved Destiny’s Child all members and their solo work. As much I love Beyonce’ wrong is wrong but she can’t be punished for what her dad did. I hope things workout for La Tavia in the end at the same time. La Toya has reconciled with Kelly and Beyonce’ and has became friends with Michelle. And yes all of them were young so really none of them knew about the music industry they were all teenagers. The Knowles did probably did make some mistakes at the same time Matthew quit his 6 figure job to get the girls going so this could go either way. But the best way to make a comeback is showcase your talent La Toya did so can she.

Everyone else has been able to say publicly what when down. Letoya has been able to speak her peace, Bee and Kelly have had opportunity too as well. And guess what if I missed some golden childhood moments and invested all my time in a group and someone just took that away from me right when we were getting loads of success I would still be a little raw as well.

LaTavia, just like LeToya and Farrah will never be able to dodge the questions about the group. You can’t expect them to move on when the media is always bringing the group up in interviews (same way the media brings up Beyonce in every Michelle, Kelly and Solange interview). The moment they decide to decline on answering about the group, everyone is going to say they’re rude.

I learned that Beyonce tried but failed to get a solo record deal in 1994, that’s why she was forced to debut with Destiny’s Child until 2002 before she got a solo deal
