The promotional campaign for Monica‘s upcoming album ‘New Life’ (April 10) finds the somber R&B singer performing a mini-concert for AOL Sessions.
The songstress blazed through her impressive catalogue of top 40 hits including ‘Angel of Mine’ and ‘So Gone’, as well as new tracks like ‘It All Belongs To Me’ to name a few.

Lord knows Monica can sing, but I have to admit her tone is just not my personal preference, especially during most live performances that I’ve seen lately. Still think she’s one of the best current female R&B vocalists.

One thing we look for is growth in musical acts. Monica has been in the game for over 15 years. She is doing what she does… SING R&B.
After listening to the stream of her new album NEW LIFE, she truly DELIVERS.
This album really does highlight the pain she went through with the ending of her last relationship and the happiness she feels now being married to the man of her dreams.
I mean this girl is singing about REAL things… SUBSTANCE. I can say that out of the 11 tracks I’ve heard, I like 9 of them.
This album is one I personally can relate to and I’m going to support this Real Talent.

MONICA IS THE TRUTH…. It’s undeniable .people give her a hard time about her past etc. but like she tweeted there is no true present without a past. Her music speaks to me. Happy to see a woman fully clothed singing ,string prescence and she just exudes that I’m good with who I am vibe. As women we all need that. Love that she stayed true to R and b as well. Tired of techno beats and a hook being considered the only thing hot… Not so… Loooove this Monica
