New Video: Willow Smith – ‘Do It Like Me (Rock Star)’

‘Whip My Hair’ hitmaker Willow Smith is whipping out a new joint for fans ‘Do It Like Me (Rock Star)’.  The visual for the song, which was reportedly the singer’s first ever, actually preceded ‘Hair’ but was passed for single status when ‘Hair’ took off on radio.

Now, unveiling a peek at the visual for fans, the youngest of the Smith clan looks to show her faithful followers how she rocks it out.

Set to join previous singles ‘Hair’, ’21st Century Girl’, and the Nicki Minaj-assisted ‘Fireball’ on the young’n’s debut album ‘Knees and Elbows‘, take a look after the jump:

I need this child to be a CHILD.

This girl needs to be in school, playing with friends, and having a good time. All this pressure she seems to be under to be a “star” is ridiculous.

We saw what happened to all the other child stars, don’t’ be surprised IF she ends up on crack and getting DUI”s when she is older.

    sad shame.

    Now where is Barbra Walters

OMDZ I have never actually felt this much hatred for a 10 year old girl, this b**** needs to sit back and colour in some pictures because I feel actually offended that record labels would put out this minor too look up too lol, YEAH COZ IM REALLY GOING TO RELATE TO A 10 YEAR OLD GIRL, Will I thought you had more pride than that take your children away we dont want them!

@NYY94 I’m sure they didn’t have adults in mind when they considered a realistic fanbase that would relate to her. That comment in itself is…o_0.

Anyway, it is safe to say that her handlers tanked her album before it even debuted. “Whip My Hair” was hot and they shouldve rolled out the album ASAP while the iron was HOT. But in current industry fashion they tried to finesse a pop/crossover single into the mix, the disasterous “21st Century Girl” and it was a flamming mess and the buzz died. Tried to save with that song with Nicki Minaj, failure. Her parents are too high profile to shelf the album but thats what they should do. She’s had a growth spurt, approaching puberty. She looks different than when she did when the first single came out. That is not good for a child artist. They should let this die as humanely as possible and let her re-try as a spunky teenager, maybe at 15 or so.

I really HATE this girl. She needs to sit down and be a kid, because this is just RIDICULOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She isn’t likeable AT ALL. Her and her brother Jaden are ARROGANT brats that need some proper HOME training. Will’s oldest son is doing the right thing–staying outta the spot light and going to school. I’ve had enough of these Smith kids. Will needs to stop! And if she’s serious about her music career–she needs better songs!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF is with her last few single choices???? 21st century girl=wak, Fireball=wak and this “Rock Star” is Wak as all hell. This chil’ needs to SIT DOWN and be glued to tha seat!!!!!!!!! Over it!

I feel as if people are judging her music as if its supposed to be marketed to mainstream young adults when I don’t think it is. Yeah her singles are not the best and with whip my hair people had huge expectations like she’d be the next justin beiber, from my own personal experience I think she is doing quite well. I am a 23 year old hip hop dance teacher and although I’m not personally crazy about her music, every time a new single comes out my younger students ( 6-13) always know about it. They sing along and know all the words. I think she is very age appropriate and in a world full of rihanna’s, ke$ha’s and britney’s etc…it’s refreshing to have willow smith. She makes clean pop music whereas, I can’t use songs like You Da One and Sleazy for younger students… there aren’t many alternatives… just offering a different perspective for those who seem to be so actively hating on willow… take it or leave it.

HEY! She’s the one that wanted a musical career so, with her dad being will smith, that was tooken care of. I’m sure her parents told her everything that came with this career, the hard work, being noticed everywhere you go, not spending alot of time with friends exc…and it’s good she starts you so that way she has time to really find out who she wants to be…
BTW, the video is dumb. Song is good. Video is complete bullcrap!

This is not for adults it’s for kids. So who cares. I doubt Willow is doing it as a legit career. Her mom says she let’s the kids test things out. Willow is testing it out. It doesn’t mean she wants to be a singer til she’s an adult. Her parents are rich and can support anything she wants to do. If she wanted a full career…. She’d be doing Bieber how he is always working. She only works for like what every video. So let her be . She’s having fun and two she has a movie coming out with Daddy and Uncle Jay. Her dad is a smart man and knows how to brand movies. Annie remake. Do you know how much Karate Kid made? Yeah So she will be fine.
