Watch: Ciara Shares More On New Album

Published: Thursday 31st May 2012 by David

Last night saw Ciara unveil the name of her new LP ‘One Woman Army‘.

Now peep her share more on the long awaited project via MTV today, below…

Here’s hoping Epic are readying a lengthy (we can’t stress that word enough) campaign for ‘OWA‘, beginning long before the project actually drops.

For, far too often do acts drop records with little regard for how they are perceived by the buying public, assuming the music will miraculously sell itself.

This is why we hope Epic drops the album in the final quarter- preferably Black Friday for obvious reasons- and spends the next few months reintroducing Ciara to the world, leveraging her oft overlooked assets with her extensive track record to re-brand her as a worthy competitor to the likes of Rihanna and Co.

Because as of now, Jane Doe has no obvious reason to pick up a Ciara CD when ‘Loud’ and ‘Teenage Dream’ is likelier to be the safer option.

Here’s hoping that changes with the surfacing of a groundbreaking new sound, creatively rich music videos and a well manned strategy to enhance the public’s perception of Ms.Harris before the launch.

I never thought I would say this but Cici come on I wanna “Sweat” she said its a uptempo I’m Tooooo excited *cries like fantasia*

I’m so proud of Ciara I would love to see her get the credit that she deserve but I will always be happy with good music she always deliver musically the only thing that I was kinda disappointed in was Basic Instinct’s lyrical content ( don’t get it twisted that album knocked the bass was everything & more I’m glad I bought a copy) so I’m very pleased to hear that she really put herself in this album because the last time she did that was during The Evolution & that album touched on many topics love, heartbreak, self esteem issues etc. It was a very mature album for her but I’m excited for ONE WOMAN ARMY & I can’t wait Ciara deserves success & more : ) #CSquad TURN UP

Judging by what we have seen from the previous years, the name of the album is quite appropriate. A “one woman army” is about all that will be purchasing this CD.

And nicki minaj is any better? Last time I checked she was on her second album and people are already getting tired of her and her gimmicks. The sales decline proves that. The b**** can’t sing or dance. Can hardly rap either…so BYE.

    • Mischief June 1, 2012

I love Nicki she is a great RAPPER not singer….. Honey you coming for other people album sales When your favs 2ND album can’t go GOLD after how long? And she Is this BIG star #haveAseat

      • Mischief June 1, 2012

And “Goodies” out sold nicki whole career HUh #clapback *rihanna voice*

  20. MISHKA May 31, 2012

Well, bring the beat in, Ci-Ci.

All I know is if “One Woman Army” goes #1…Chile, I know someone who will need all the voodoo she could get to cope with all the shade she’ll receive.

  21. Remey June 1, 2012

YAS! Let the wig tossin, c****** cranking, and p**** popping begin!

No one can deny that CiCi performs! Honestly, she gives more dance energy than Beyonce. I just hope this era is carefully planned out. CiCi’s team rushes things and become sporadic with the direction they want to push her.

For Fantasy Ride, they started off with a grittier R&B sound with “Go Girl,” but then they realized it was a terrible lead and pushed out “Never Ever,” which was her usual sound. Then they thought they could capture her some crossover appeal with Love. S**, and Magic….but that failed too.

They were going in too many directions, which confused the masses. Come up with a solid plan and stick with it. Fans like music eras with consistency (see: Britney Spears, Rihanna (not including TTT), Beyonce (not including 4)).

    • Yes Ciara is back June 1, 2012

She is back with la ried now so I think she is ok. Everything for her this era is new.

  22. Perryperryperry June 1, 2012

I love her I love her I love her

  23. Percy June 1, 2012

If Ciara isn’t here to give us these tracks that makes us want to dance, sing, cry, or all of the above, we’re not for her. Hopefully she’ll restore her role as a good R & B and pop singer. I can only hope.

  24. ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) June 1, 2012

I am beyond excited for this. I am so ready for her comeback!!! I just hope the less safe tracks, the ones she said showcase her vulnerable side, make it to the album’s tracklist 🙂 Bring it on!!

  25. bash June 1, 2012

Maybe she can sell over 35k first week this time…

  26. Darianna Jones June 1, 2012

I’m a diehard Ciara fan, so as long as she stays true to herself I will be buying regardless. Take your time with this one girl! But we ARE ready to sweat!
