Serial lip-syncer Cheryl Cole attempted to honour the Queen of England tonight by ditching her favourite past-time and singing live.
Yet, as her performance of ‘Need You Now’ with Gary Barlow proved, switching on her mic only highlights her ample inadequacies.

Cole, like the Rihanna’s of the world, reinforce all that is wrong with today’s music industry. Yes, the “freedom” embedded in music should be celebrated. Yet, it sadly also births a level of subjectivity which it almost makes it OK to suck as long as you have a compelling enough selling point (i.e. wig colour, fashion game).
Look at it this way, if an accountant must know how to add and a footballer must know how to kick a ball, surely a singer should be able to s-i-n-g?!

This just confirms that there is no-way on (this) earth that Cheryl sang live on The Voice like her people would like us to believe. Although stiff, she pranced, jumped and swayed while maintained a (still rubbish but) steady vocal. She was so shaky here that i’m surprised that people didn’t think there was an earthquake! I listened to it again to judge if i was being harsh…. i wasn’t
Who is she again? I don’t understand why she is constantly dissed on this site when her only presence is in the UK. Here in the USA she is unknown. I am not even sure if her albums get released here. At least Rihanna is a global artist with name recognition world wide.

She was GOD AWFUL!!!!!!!! Beautiful girl, horrible voice. The end. And she definitely massacred this song. This is one of my favs and she ruined it. She definitely won’t be winning ANY Grammys .

I really don’t know much about her but i like her voice. I don’t think all artist have to be beyonce’s . I like her song love killer and telescope. I youtube some of her songs singing live and it sounded like her cd, but like i said I don’t know that much about her career. I will say that girls aloud were horrible.

Sad that Garry Barlow would even have her up there performing on a historic occasion and in front of the Royal Family when she can’t even sound “ok” singing the most basic of songs.
Macca, Cliff Richard, JLS and half of the performers sounded really bad, the fact you’re focusing just on her says more about you than about her.

The worst part is how pleased she looks with herself after yak yodeling. She was drowned out by the backup singers (JLo style) once the song progressed beyond the first chorus. I’m not hugely familiar with her (I’m American) all I know is she sings and was a judge on x-factor (which I don’t watch).
Can she dance? Usually that tends to make up the difference for people like JLo or Ciara. Is there some other quality to her other than having a pretty face and being famous???
before hearing the video, i thought TGF was again just being mean to Cheryl but listening to the first few seconds of the video, seems like TGF is right. kinda disappointed. i thought the song was just too low for Cheryl but when the chorus kicked in, she still had a hard time singing it. Perhaps she’s stressed, have problems. i don’t know.
To be honest, if you listen to the original the song isn’t too low, she just cant sing. Many a artist have sung this at there pitch, she just doesn’t have one
She’s another case of “pretty girl – can’t sing – let’s award her a lucrative singing career nevertheless”.
Truly a pathetic effort. And that song isn’t even that difficult, if you have even an ounce of a singing voice in you. A good comparison from the same evening was Jessie J (not a fan at all) – there’s someone with a voice (even though she often tries WAY too hard, it seems).
