Two days ago, the death of ‘Moesha’ star Yvette Wilson struck up the ever heated topic of ‘US healthcare’.
For, before her untimely death, Wilson had been forced to call on the general public to help pay for medical expenses, believed to have amounted to $25,000.
Moved by the tragedy, Twitter saw Pop mogul Nicki Minaj weigh in on the matter and call on President Obama to make the necessary changes to ensure tax paying citizens received help from the State if ever in Wilson’s position.
Hours later, Quest of ‘The Roots responded to Minaj’s tweets, informing her that The White House would be interested in working with her to raise health care awareness.
Now, the world of Pop has weighed in on his claim.

Striking up debate the world over, Minaj’s unconfirmed invite prompted the following from various forums across the net:
She seems passionate about the issue and she’s not stupid so I can’t see any reason for her not to debate the issue
That’s awesome, but I really hope that she knows all her sh*t if she’s going to debate. I don’t want her to get destroyed by some Republican that can talk circles around her.
I just think the White House wants her to raise awareness with the issue in conjunction to Nicki tweeting about it and letting people know that Obama can make the change.
In Trinidad where Nicki was born, we receive free health care. Maybe this issue will force the US Gov’t to care more about its citizens and offer free health care to ALL.
Hats off to Nicki for her political stance on some things. Having said that, I feel Nicki is hypocritical on a lot of things.
She is a platinum selling artist, I’m certain she had the money to pay for the medication. The big question is “why didn’t she”? Instead of spamming the Obama twitter page, Ms Minaj would have simply put on a benefit concert to raise money if she didn’t want to pay out of pocket.
Yesterday when I mentioned that she had enough pull to meet with the President, her stans doubted it. But now everyone is happy and pretending like it wasn’t just yesterday they were doubting what her celebrity status could do.
Good on her though, she better take the opportunity or else she’s all talk and no action and will look like a fool in the end.
i hope she prepares properly to actually give an educated argument for her case. she’s in a position where her celebrity status could have some real-world influence now so this could be a big opportunity.
Nicki better make her way up the political ladder If she continues advocating what she did last night, her fans will follow suit and her tweets won’t just be considered ‘rants’ by the outsider.
It’s important to note that the administration is yet to confirm the invite, and that Questo‘s comments are- despite his close ties to President Obama- were merely a recommendation.
However, with the White House opening its doors to the likes of Lady GaGa and Alicia Keys in the past, would you support Nicki if she was to join the healthcare debate.
