Usher has been in the game for 19yrs, he will be 20 next year and still going strong. Maybe Jennifer got a star because she is an Oscar and Grammy award winner. You have to be nominated to get a star. You don’t pay for it till you are actually given a star.
You can also nominate yourself . Being popular enough to get votes from the committee plays a key part. I know the 30K comes after the star nomination.
The award is given in categories not because of awards. She’s in the Recording Artist category with Usher. Based on that I think it’s too early.

Good Lord! Everyone can get a star nowadays. I thought Walk Of Fame applied to icons and legends and I don’t see any of them on that list (apart from The Backstreet Boys maybe).

Viola Davis qualifies in three categories: Film, TV and Theatre. She’s done all three for over 15 years. To me her spot is earned AND she could be greedy and go after all three if she wants lol.
I’m not trying to hate but I wonder if Weight Watchers nominated Jennifer? She’s most known for winning an Oscar back in 2007 but her Hollywood Star is in the RECORDING ARTIST category. As a RECORDING ARTIST she has two certified gold albums. I mean Jenny barely made the 5 year minimum cut off.

Jennifer Hudson is The first ever American Idol contestant to go on to win an Academy Award (for her 1st movie role),BAFTA, A GOLDEN GLOBE . I think that is the reason. She has had so much more impact and will be remembered for far longer than any other Idol

Brandy must be in inducted too in the near future. She has done extremely well as a recording artist and has influenced many youngsters with her vocal ingenuity. She is equally a well good actress. Its unsual to be good at both.
