Hot Shot: Azealia Banks Unveils ‘Fantasea’ Cover

Femcee Azealia Banks has seen her buzz stretch far and wide, a trend which looks to continue with the release of her new mixtape ‘Fantasea’ – the cover for which was unmasked today

The hotly anticipated mixtape (due July 11th) features songs ‘Jumanji’, ‘Nathan’, and ‘Aquababe’, and precedes Banks’ eagerly awaited debut album ‘Broke With Expensive Taste’ – which hits stores in September.

It looks painfully cheap. She should have kept Gaga’s manager because at the very least it would look like a little bit of money and effort went into her presentation.

    • Honestly Speaking July 9, 2012

I’m still looking forward to new music from her though and I can appreciate the fact that she is trying to be different and create her own sound; instead of following trends.

I don’t like it and she should have done better.

For a new artist who’s trying to get fans her face SHOULD have been on the album cover. That’s marketing 101.

Nothing on the album cover is especially unique or makes me think of her. Like if I’m walking through the Best Buy CD aisle I’m not gonna stop when I see that.

It’s cute, by I’m kinda surprised it’s so dull considering her style.

It’s not going to be at Best Buy. It’s a mixtape. And I highly doubt it will get a physical release.

    P.S. What’s with the eye?

The cover is not where the problem is and it’s definitely not cheap. It’s creative, fresh and fun. The problem is that I’ve listened to ALL the tracks she’s released so far and I only liked 2 or 3 of them. I think she’s really talented, so I hope she releases a song that grabs my attention. And judging by her EP’s sales, I don’t think I’m the only one whose attention she needs to grab (no shade)

The cover is cheap and uninspired, don’t try and come for me and my opinion just because it happens to differ from yours, b****.

      • ASAP (As Sincere As Possible) July 9, 2012

I didn’t come for you. I just said I disagree. Some people just don’t know the difference between reading a different opinion and getting attacked.

so what do,s nicki minaj have to do with this, you epople is so press over nicki she is always on yall mind, she just gets dis for dis sake, nicki isn’t even in the country and yall still riding her d***.

      • $$$$ (Dollar$ign$kills) July 9, 2012

Its a mixtape cover b****, it doesnt need to be inspiring or great. —–> _/

    • Kangarilla July 9, 2012

My sentiments exactly. I’mma need a lil bit more than rapping fast over some 80’s house music.

      • Honestly Speaking July 9, 2012

Your petty ass sentiments are useless. Azealia, may be rapping over outdated house music but it’s much better than the generic trash that is all over the radio at the moment and Nicki Minaj with her inflated ass attempting to sing over any kind of beat that she feels might garner another “hit”. B****, sit down.

        Take your own advice.

People hurting over artists like they’re your own kids.

    • Kingphoenix July 9, 2012

I feel so sad for you all’s poor taste in music. Azealia has many great songs tbh.

    • POP ROYALTY ( F*** Yo Fav) July 9, 2012

      *Mixtape

  8. the real xoxo July 9, 2012

this is a MIXTAPE cover, not an album cover. mixtape covers are always ratchet.
anyway i like ‘nathan’. looking forward to this mixtape.

    • Mely B July 9, 2012

Thank you – it’s not that deep, it’s a cover for a mixtape. Lighten up people. I think it’s cute and reflects a lighthearted, fun personality. I’m getting a feel for her as an artist and this will hold me until her proper debut drops.

  9. Kingphoenix July 9, 2012

Can’t wait for this mixtape! I hope she has a good mix of songs with both house beats and ratchet hood beats, because she excels in both. I also hope she has more songs she sings in like Slow Hands and NEEDSUMLUV.

  10. commanderofthedancefloor July 9, 2012

there is a big difference between a mixtape and an album cover, most mixtape covers are nothing to praise, so don’t expect much, its good enough for her mixtape and it matches her theme

  11. $$$$ (Dollar$ign$kills) July 9, 2012

Yall need to sit all the way the f*** down. Its a MIXTAPE cover, not an EP cover, not album cover, not even a single cover. Why the hell would she pay money for a quality cover for something thats free? The artwork probably wont even show up on your m**/ipod anyways. Smh

  12. Rell July 9, 2012

I like the cartoon, thank god she didnt put her face on the cover cause that mug!!!! ugh. Her biggest problem is her mouth, she has too much of it and not enough talent to back it up. I like two of her songs that I have heard, the rest are whack. Instead of picking fights with other artist she should be focusing on making good music, clearly based on her mixtape downloads/sales Im not the only one who feels that way…..get it together Azalea No$intheBank

Dang do none of you even know what a mixtape is? You ain’t gonna just find it at the store. It’s just something you will either download for free from the Internet or see being sold at your local gas station or convenient store. The peeps who make them can get away with it by just saying they were selling you the artwork and packaging and that the disc that came inside it is free. Not a bad idea really. But anyway, it’s not even just something new artists do either. Established artists put out mixtapes for their fans all the time and new artists try to get on one to get noticed.

My niece is young, refreshing adding flavor to the game. WHAT R U CONTRIBUTING? Wait…just wait until she starts singing and acting. Azealia is challenging / stylish / and def not sitting in the house watching tv / on a cellphone gossiping / or bulling. I repeat YOUNG PEOPLE!!!! What are you contributing? Are you writing/reading and being creative in any manner???
