In what may come as a surprise to many Pop Culture spectators, it seems Mariah Carey‘s joining of FOX‘s ‘American Idol’ has been overshadowed by the arrival of ‘Va Va Voom‘ songstress Nicki Minaj.
Striking up a debate as to whether she is qualified to judge fresh talent, despite being one of Pop’s more celebrated stars, Minaj’s ‘Idol’ role has now won the approval of Season 11 staple Jessica Sanchez.

On the Rapper’s joining the show, Sanchez shared with ‘The Myx’:
“I think those are amazing choices for the new judge panel. They’re definitely different from the other people. Nicki Minaj is definitely an entertainer, and to be in the music industry you have to be an entertainer, so I think she’ll help with that a lot.”
The starlet’s remarks arrive after she inked a deal with ‘Interscope Records’, which houses ‘ARTPOP‘ sensation Lady GaGa and ‘Van Vogue‘s Azealia Banks.

American Idol is not just a singing competition, they are judged on imaging and song choice and selection as well. nicki has top 10 appeal 2 #1 albums and MAc, OPI, Fragrance, Pepsi deals, so she knows what she’s doing! She can give a lot of advice on how to market yourself as a brand and gain public attention!
THE ONLY REASON I FEEL NICKI IS A JUDGE IS BECAUSE SHE IS GOING TO HELP INCREASE THE RATINGS BY BRINGING IN A YOUNGER AUDIENCE (POSSIBLY AGES 14-21); BUT AS A FAN OF NM I CAN HONESTLY SAY THAT I DON’T THINK SHE HAS BEEN IN THE GAME LONG ENOUGH TO CRITIQUE ANYBODY YET ALONE CRITIQUE A SINGING COMPETITION. Sam is completely stupid. People are more so angered by the fact that Minaj is a judge because she isn’t deserving of it. She a flavor of the moment, they want ratings, but what they fail to realize is that Nicki is no Britney. She doesn’t have that much clout in this business as they’d like to put out there.
