‘The Way It Is’ songstress Keyshia Cole is still making her way down the promo trail in support of her forthcoming LP ‘Woman To Woman’.

Led by the Lil’ Wayne-assisted ‘Enough of No Love’, the album acts as one of many ventures the singer is readying for the coming months including a return to the BET reality circuit with ‘Family First’.

But first, Cole looks to share news on her new album and speak candidly on the failure of its predecessor.  Also sharing her thoughts on Mary J. Blige, Brandy, K. Michelle, Chris Brown, and more, find out how Keyshia feels about R&B’s current status below:

IS THAT A SHADE TO MJB???????????

    • 2bad2bme September 13, 2012

i think it was and this interview was tired as hell…girl we already got the songs we need from u like Dru Hill, Baby Face, and other artist like so that dont need to make any more music

      • BEZZENO848 September 13, 2012

It was most defiantly a shade to MJB you see the way of her body language changed, I wouldn’t say she don’t need to make any more music she just need to find new topics to Incorporate in her music

    • wmtproductions147 September 13, 2012

No she is actually thanking her!

      • Moeman September 13, 2012

Yeah in a shady kind of a way but at least she was nice about it sorta kinda

      • Anne September 13, 2012

Were you listening? She said she would reach out to new artists and give them advice and that she wishes she would have received the same help or consideration from Mary. She also noted that she would not be like Mary if someone like K. Michelle called her for advice. So although she is flattered by gthe musical comparison she is not thanking Mary and letting everyone know that they are two different type of people because she would give back by helping new artists BUT MARY APPARENTLY DID NOT DO THE SAME FOR KEISHA and Keisha wishes Mary would have been more like her.

      • Anne September 13, 2012

She is basically saying Mary is all about Mary and that she is different from Mary because unlike Mary, she is willing to help new artist who are trying to make a name for themselves. It’s clearly shade and no where near a thank you.

    • JER September 13, 2012

hope so, I love Mary, MY MARY, my girl. But MJB hasn’t put out a great record since The Breakthru. We Mary fans have had some lean years before and after The Breakthru.

  2. OH MY GOSH…. GOOGLE KELSNETWORK AN SEE WHAT HAPPENS! September 13, 2012

keyshia cole looks beautiful and i aint go lie ……. i mean just google kelsnetwork

  3. Anne September 13, 2012

She said she wants to be supportive of her fans by singing about being hurt because that’s what they are going through but she left out the part about wanting her fans to be equally as supportive of her by going out and buying her album this time. I can’t imagine why her fans would want to force her into a box where she sings the same slightly altered sad love song over and over. I would prefer that the artists who I listen to cover a variety of emotions because I don’t want to hear the same story over and over. I think she may be misreading her fans. Maybe they didn’t like the last album for other reasons besides the songs being too happy.

    • Stephanie September 14, 2012

I agree…”some” fans want these singers to stay stuck in 1 particular era in life & display 1 particular emotion b/c they (the fans) are stuck in the past…people move on & grow & that should be reflected in their music/life (happy, sad or otherwise)…she appears to be a happily married woman, with a child…so some of her songs should reflect “happiness”, “growth”, “motherhood”, “love” not another “I Should Have Cheated” song b/c that’s not where she is in life…Keisha, Mary & even Alicia get put in that “box” by “some” of their fans…Keisha & Mary HAVE to sing sad love songs & Alicia HAS to make a Fallin’ (part 10) in order for “some” fans to be satisfied…if they sing any other style of music, they’ve changed or “sold-out”!!!

  4. MC September 13, 2012

Keisha Cole looks exactly like K.Michelle

    • Gurl yessss September 13, 2012

*IF you think they look anything alike b**** you need glasses

    • credits September 14, 2012

you know what MC……i was just thinking the same thing, but they don’t look EXACTLY alike, i’m seeing a strong similarity in the mouth area….there teeth are almost the same and they have the same bite so when she was talking it kind of looked like k. michelle.

  5. wrong September 13, 2012

Mary don’t like her. She needs to stop begging Mary to collab with her. Mary and Kendu got her removed from her bet honours tribute and they called in Monica at the last minute because they did not want her to do it.

  6. Tim September 13, 2012

Very, very, very subtle shade to Mary, kinda like an underhanded compliment…but she was telling the truth. I have no idea how Mary for all these years was able to dodge keyshia cole questions!!

    • Anne September 13, 2012

Subtle? Some of you need your ears or level of comprehension checked. She came straight out and said Mary did not help her when Keisha was a new artist. And Keisha also straight forwardly stated that she is different from Mary because Keisha WOULD be willing to help a new artist now that she has gained experience and has advice to share. Keisha wishes Mary would have been towards her the way Keisha would now treat a new artist who comes to her for advice. There was nothing subtle or backhanded about what she said, she was straight forward and didn’t hold back.

  7. Angelica September 13, 2012

Thats cause mary doesnt like her she likes beyonce but i really wanna hear more of keyshias new songs not a fan of hers but i like some of her songs

  8. JER September 13, 2012

I lke Keyshia. She’s real and she wants to hustle and you Keyshia fans should be ashamed to make her feel she has to compromise her artistry to get your broke asses to buy her albums and request her songs on radio. SMH

  9. Kyle September 13, 2012

Keyshia is VERY REAL and I really respect that from her. I personally never thought “Calling All Hearts” was a bad album. Keyshia is an ARTIST and she is supposed to show her fans different sides of her and she released a piece of work that reflected how she was feeling at the time. I thought it was a good change for her. The fact that people bashed that album for being positive should be an insult to Keyshia rather than her fans. I don’t like when artists regret their work. I remember Brandy said that about her album “Human” and I sad she felt the way she did about it. That was such a good R&B album with some of her strongest material. Just because it didn’t sell well doesn’t make it a “bad album.”

  10. CHILE PLEASE!! September 13, 2012

Don’t care for this non-singing chick…..& didn’t even bother to look at the video…but I did come to toss the shade!! She really needs to take singing lessons or just quit singing all together….I don’t give a f*** how people can relate to her music….I can’t relate to her voice. The first thing that comes out people’s mouth is….”She’s real & I feel her pain!” MAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN F*** that……..I literally feel a pain in my head when I hear that weak ass talent show voice….then that video she came out with trying to dance…………OMG!! WACK.ORG! There was no need for choreography! Girl Bye!

  11. danny b September 13, 2012

I f****** love Keyshia Cole. She might come off as a b**** or arrogant or what not, but its only cuz shes so completely and brutally honest and says what she feels and hides nothing and I totally 100% respect that and I think thats why shes been so consistently successful all these years. A lot of people are just so not used to someone being so real in their music as well as in real life and it trips them out but I get Keyshia and I will support her always… also because we’re both from the bay area so she’s representing us well 🙂

  12. THE GAME September 13, 2012

Love Keyshia! Looking forward for the album!

  13. itsallright September 14, 2012

She did nothing but show mary respect and mary never even cared to reach out to her which is messed up I love marys music but she is wrong for how she treated keyshia #plainandsimple

  14. big September 14, 2012

    I know right

  15. theman September 14, 2012

She was simply saying that although there were the Mary comparisons she is herself. She wasn’t being slick. It’s ridiculous that fans want artists to not show growth. Stop being so bitter. Her last album was good. People tend to equate low selling albums with bad material. Her album was good. The issue with her last album was the not so good single that she released with Nicki as the lead song.

  16. antertain September 14, 2012

For the songs to come out right Keyshia gotta be feeling them songs in her system, otherwise it wont please the fans.

Hope when Keyshia finishes a song she is thinking “thats my jam or thats the shitt right there”

Loads of singers sing about things outside of personal experience, because if this doesn’t do well she gonna say “i wasn’t 100% feeling it as I wasn’t in that space personally!!!”

NO excuses! Make sure its right and sounds GREAT!
If it dont feel right, or general opinion is no, then dont put on the album.

    REAL T

  17. truth(the one and only u b****) September 14, 2012

is anyone even checking for this h**? (logs off and sha-shays out the room)

  18. Stephanie September 14, 2012

When you are in a position to help others, you should pay it forward & basically Mary didn’t do that…in my humble opinion Mary didn’t help Keyshia b/c she didn’t want to share her “R&B” spot with Keyshia…Keyshia’s life story & style pretty much mirrors Mary’s…Mary most def had a lil’ jealousy/envy thing going towards Keyshia in the beginning, maybe not now since Keyshia isn’t as successful (musically) as she was when she 1st started…kudos to Keyshia for being a secure woman & willing to help other artists get established…can’t hate on that!!!!!

  19. credits September 14, 2012

it sucks that she feels she cannot release music that is relating to her life at this point in career. isn’t just going to seem forced?

    • credits September 14, 2012

      **isn’t it**
