Armed with a killer live band and her increasingly popular vocals, the singer/songwriter’s performance was impressive to say the least.

Shine Ya Light was very good, How we do on the other hand was all over the place. It was like a bad roller-coaster ride. I like that her styling has sort of changed though, she seems to want to make her own stamp at it this time.
Her singles are likely to do better than anything BeyFLOP has released from 4closure though. Can I also add on to say congratulations to BeyFLOP for going Gold with “love on top”, after a fake baby bump performance at the VMAs and a flashy video, “Love on top” is now competing with “Birthday Cake” which had, well NO promo at all.
Nah, her singles won’t outperform beyonce’s/ Beyonce can sang,perform, has better songs and is far more beautiful. Beyonce is not basic. She is so basic.
I am more harder on her than you, cos, she has been given way to much time, money and promotion – even when she flops she gets A list movie star promo. For all that, I expect to see, the beauty / body OF HALLE; the voice of Aretha Franklin; the songwriting of bob dylan; the dance of janet jackson ….that is how they hype her up.

These debut performances were better. Everyone on youtube loved Rihanna at 17 – they always say how much they miss the OLD rih No one expects her to have a voice, that is not why she got signed. If her voice was so bad, she never would of sold a single record/. From what I can tell, Rita has a nice voice, but no “star quality”. To me, she just lacks that certain “something” that makes me want to keep paying attention to her after the song ends.
Sad to say, but in this day and age, with few exceptions, personality and packaging can get you farther than actual singing talent. Rita can sing, but unless she can attract a sizeable, loyal fanbase who will support her by BUYING albums and concert tickets, and not “I want Rihanna to fail, so I’m gonna get behind Rita” internet bandwagon stans, she won’t last long.

Rita does not have an amazing voice like that. She can sing, but it is not the same as when 20 yr old Alicia Keys came on the scene and she could SANG.
That was my issue, they keep saying how talented she is. But……The voice is not spectacular and she does not write her music. When alicia Keys was Rita age, she was hailed for her VOCALS, piano playing skills and songwriting ability. She was the real deal. With Rita, I am not seeing anything, that has not been done before.
