New Song: Chrisette Michele ft. 2 Chainz – ‘Charades’

Published: Tuesday 23rd Oct 2012 by Rashad

‘If I Had My Way’ wailer Chrisette Michele is making her way back to radio with the help of G.O.O.D. rapper 2 Chainz.

Enlisting her labelmate for ‘Charades’, Michele moves onto new sonic territory – tapping into autotune soul, if you will.

Lifted from her forthcoming mixtape ‘Audrey Hepburn: The Mixtape’, the December 8th due project will tide fans over until times get ‘Better’ (her forthcoming album).

Until then, see what Michele and co. have cooked up below:

2 chainz? really chrisette? damn shame.

i do not like 2 chainz’s first verse on this song. And chrisette is a gifted vocalist, i have her albums so i am a bit suprised at her use of autotune but at least she is not overdoing it.

2 chainz murdered the vide of this song. Voice is too beautiful to feature a rapper. Kudos to Brandy for not needing features to make a great cd.

It’ll be the only way she’ll get radio play. It’s sad but urban radio ain’t playing you with out a rapper especially female singers unless your name is beyonce!!!!

  7. EbonyPearl October 24, 2012

i don’t even listen to urban radio anymore. sometimes i want to hear love songs, plain R&B Ballads,or just fun feel good songs. I Can’t get that with Urban stations. Train, One Direction, Maroon 5…and acts like this are way more appealing these days. And i’m a Black Female…But, Its good for women to hear postive Love songs….Such a shame CHRISETTE!!!

    One directiion .. seriously. lol

Great song but please take 2 chainz off of this track. I just cant.

Why are Elle Varner & Keyshia Cole the only R&B artists putting out decent R&B …. this would be really good without 2chainz.

Can we call this s*** something else. The rhythm is whack and there aint no blues. It’s not R&B

Chrisette is a talented Vocalist, she looks great and
she will be able to make a song rise up the place
    where it will be heard.

She didn’t need him on this song. Smh with this mess. Just need good r&b.

    Sympathetic song

  13. Hey October 24, 2012

this song is dope i dont mind the rap if it flows well with the song or its like some surprise but a lot of these songs that singers have dnt really need alot of the rapper on them to sell this song would be dope if she did it solo to see where she would go artistically on the bridge

2chainz wasn’t needed at all, he ruined the beginning.

Song is dope tho, her vocals sound great.

I like the song but what is up with the rap part, it makes no sense. Since i heard he was a smart guy, graduated early from college and all, maybe he should pursue something other than rap.

When i heard 2 chains was singing on the track, i thought; i like him, this ought to sound great! NO MAM! HIs singing was terrible! Scared me to death!! He should stick to rapping! The song is great by itself!

  17. pleasantnshy April 10, 2013

i took a dive and listened to it all the way. The first part of chains singing…no mam! sounds like an injured animal…LOL. The rest of the song is ok. still sounds better without the rap!!
