New Song: Ne-Yo ‘Should Be You (Ft Fabolous & Diddy)’

Published: Monday 29th Oct 2012 by David

Save for Brandy and Keyshia Cole, Ne-Yo is one of the only R&B staples to succeed in crafting cuts both to true to the genre, but ‘catchy’ enough to draw in the casual listener.

A credit to his skill as a writer, today saw the unveiling of a new number by the star named ‘Should Be You‘, featuring ‘Street Dreams’ MC Fabolous and ‘Last Train To Paris‘ mastermind Diddy. Packing a laid back vibe and an infectious hook, the cut appears on the singer’s new LP ‘RED’, due out November 6th.

NeYo SHOULD BE above writing these one-line-and-repeat hooks. In this song, it is NOT catchy, it’s lazy.

Is anybody even still checking for this project? I was with Lazy Love, but not so much now.

Haven’t been feeling Ne-Yo for a good minute now, but thought I should listen as him and Fabolous usually drop really good tracks together.

    Not this time. Meh.

So now were back to being black, I see. I swear, I don’t know how these sellout R&B singers these days don’t wind up splitting into multiple personalities, as much as they like to flip flop from hood jam to emo rave.

    LEGENDARY. Love this song.

So far the 5 tracks I’ve heard from this album sound better than the whole of Usher’s and Trey Songz albums, so will deff be buying when it drops!
