Watch: That Grape Juice Interviews Chrisette Michele

Published: Friday 30th Nov 2012 by Sam

Here at That Grape Juice we love us some Chrisette Michele. Hence, we were elated to learn that the Soul-filled songbird was nesting in London recently to piece together her new mixtape.

Christened ‘Audrey Hepburn: The Audiovisual Presentation’, the free collection (due December 8th) features songs and visuals inspired by the British-born Hollywood legend.

Watch above as we chat to the Def Jam star at the famed Red Bull studios; discussed are, of course, the project, the full-length album to follow, the state of R&B, and much more. Enjoy.

Tidbit: Also check out the latest videos to be lifted from the project below…

‘Audrey Hepburn: The Audiovisual Presentation’ arrives via Coast 2 Coast Mixtapes on December 8th.

    I love Chrisette Michele!

HOWEVER, she seems like she’s changing a bit.

Look at her now compared to her first CD, a bigggg change.

And it’s sickening that she doesn’t claim the R&B genre because she plays such a HUGE ROLE in it. I think she’s only pushing it aside because she wants to emerge mainstream.

    Here’s to finding yourself Chrisette…

And since I know you’re reading this, stick to your R&B roots, we connect with you through that genre (and Gospel)… Pop is not your forte, neither is “alternative rock” unless you use some soul in it. Don’t lose your soul (mentally and physically) because that’s when we (the fans) will lose you.

Chrisette Michele’s interviews are ALWAYS the best ones ! She’s so chill and calm and just for 4 seconds she will start to shout and scream and then go back to being quiet. She’s very inspiring and knows what she’s doing. I love her

How are people getting disliked for liking an artist tho lol this is not a Rihanna post this is based on another artist. This generation is ridiculous smh

It’s clear that she does not want to be identified as an r&b singer. But her voice, which is incredible, is naturally soulful and r&b sounding. So no matter what she puts her voice on, whether it’s a rock song, a country song or a techno song, she will sound r&b.

The Rihanna Navy is absolutely pathetic!

Sia wrote Diamonds, Rihanna imitated her vocals and pitches VERBATIM and it was a hit.

Rihanna’s fame and momentum is only based on the physical attributes, not the vocals.

    A goat > Rihanna.
