With her new album ‘Lotus’ out in stores now, Christina Aguilera caught up with the folks over at ‘Dateline‘ for an undeniably thought provoking interview.
Though initially appearing to be a piece on the new album and her role on the hit show ‘The Voice’, the episode soon takes a serious turn when the singer opens up on her difficult childhood which saw her mother suffer at the hands of an abusive father, and her turbulent journey as one of Pop’s most polarizing celebrities.

It’s amazing how The Sound Of Music inspired her to sing, when I was 9 years old during her debut era she got my heart on her ever since I seen I Turn To You music video. She made me love her then and she made me love music at that age. Almost 14yrs later I’m still here for her no matter what! Christina Aguilera Is My Favorite Voice Of All Time, She Is My Legend, My Inspiration & So Many More & I Know She Is All That To Others As Well.

Xtina has never been humble (maybe when she came out)…..in an interview recently she said the reason “Bionic” wasn’t successful was because it was, and I quote, a “masterpiece” that came out AHEAD of its time. These aren’t the words of a humble person. I agree Mariah is shady and throws subliminal, under the rug shade, but she has never hyped her works as “masterpieces”. Mariah admits her failures (i.e. Glitter and MJ memorial performance to name a few) where as Xtina thinks her s*** is pure gold.

Lotus is a not a bad album but I think its rather playful! Stripped will always be her best album but one thing you cant take from Christina is her music has always been QUALITY music! She puts a lot of time into her writing and work! Her ballads will always stand the test of time weather you like them or not!!! Her voice is always amazing! Pay attention people she is in a legendary lane!
i think ppl feel stripped is her best album bc it was the real, authentic christina, classic hits, and was a 180 of the girl we 1st met and we found out was not totally the real version of christina. but over all, stripped, looking back on it, was all over the place, sound wise. a lot of songs that were different sounds and themes and genres, but none the less deep and over all fun and powerful. back to basics was her strongest as far as an over all image and packaging album. i feel it could have done better if more singles were released. i feel she jsut let it end too soon in the states. understand, slow down baby and remixed it with g unit to get on urban station,. bionic was fun but was not focused enough. and it had life on it, if pushed the right way, but it wasn’t . it was left to die after 2 singles. she gave up, got divorced, worked on pushing the movie etc. i mean lets say bionic was a success, what would she done when the movie came out? glam coulda been released, lift me up coulda been a winter single, and sung over beautiful and fighter and became her signature up lifting song instead of figter or beautiful. woohoo with video treatment, and monday morning was loved by many. bionic have a deluxed messed it up bc ppl only looked at the regular album but not reviewed the added 5 songs. she gave up n moved on. lets hope she doesnt do the same with lotus.
