Festive diva Mariah Carey continued to live up to her billing on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon early this morning.
Making a surprise appearance on the show, the 42 year old turned in a unique rendition of her Holiday classic ‘All I Want For Christmas Is You’ – backed by host Fallon, house-band The Roots, and a choir of children, all of which used classroom instruments.

My Favorite Christmas song that I listen to throughout the entire year…..Mariah did really well. I love when all of the studio tricks are taken away and the only thing that is front and center is the artist’s voice. Her voice sounds amazing!!!

This clip is all kinds of great because it shows that Mariah still has it while y’alls faves can’t even stay in tune, and shows the real size of her voice – small to medium in volume – but though a smaller instrument, it never becomes ugly/distorted/strained/grainy as she projects over the music the way that a basic lesser b**** like Christina’s voice does as she pushes her voice beyond its natural volume (medium).
Christina does not have a big voice by nature. She just doesn’t. Big voices bloom in beauty as they sing louder (Whitney, Aretha, etc) while the smaller voice are the ones that become ugly and distorted when pushed to sing beyond their limits.

Honeychil’ nobody is asking XXLtina to sing “Casta Diva” like Maria Callas. My only expectation is that If you are gonna call yourself “a powerhouse vocalist” and allow your team and stans to call you “the voice of our generation”, you:
A) Can sing at least 2 octaves without straining or weakness
B) Can stay in tune singing live, especially given the amount of experience she has throughout the years.
