Mindless Behavior Announce Sophomore Album ‘All Around The World’

Published: Wednesday 16th Jan 2013 by Sam

Teen sensations Mindless Behavior are back!

Following the success of their debut effort ‘#1 Girl’ in September 2011, the Urban-Pop quad will release their second studio album in March.

Details on the project await after the jump…

According to the group’s label Streamline/Interscope, ‘All Around The World’ will hit stores on March 12th and is preceded by lead single ‘Keep Her On The Low’ – which was produced and penned by hitmaker  Sean Garrett.

Fans will be able to download the track from iTunes on January 22nd – meaning its radio premiere is imminent. What’s more, the album’s title track will be made available as a free download for those who pre-order the LP from February 12th.

And that’s not all.

The group, who are managed by Lady Gaga mastermind Vince Herbert, have quite the machine behind them this go round. For in a bid to top the 290,000 copies sold of their debut, they have teamed up with Target to offer four versions of the album – one with each member of the group on it.

They will also be performing at the Kids’ Inaugural Concert on January 19th in Washington and releasing a feature-length docu-movie ‘Mindless Behavior: All Around The World’ (which hits AMC theaters on March 15th).

To date, Mindless Behavior have sold 5.5 million ringtones, over 845,000 singles, and generated over 156 million views on YouTube.

Their chart run might not be akin to the One Direction’s of the world, yet they are – at least for the Urban arena – the nearest equivalent. Above all, though, the group has buckets of potential. Hence, it’s great to see them positioned in a way which stands to see that potential realized.

Okay I have never listened to their songs but I just watched the video TGJ staff posted and now I see why they are not that big. I mean they are trying to revamp B2k who were also a tired ass group when they came out in 2002 also and we saw how long they were at the top soo….yeah. I’m guessing one of them will publish a tell-all book about gay intimacies as well? Ch…

“they have teamed up with Target to offer four versions of the album – one with each member of the group on it”

This s*** here is what I call smart marketing! You know there are gonna be little teen girls who will buy a copy with each face on it Cus they’re that big of fans. It will suck for some of the group mates though if one of the group mates’ covers sells way more than the others. Lol

As a people, there is nothing even remotely subtle about Indians. They like their food super-spicy, load it with ghee, wear overtly bright clothing, and listen to loud, lively music. They might have small aspirations and even smaller hopes, lead very common lives, live in overcrowded cities and pigeon-hole homes, but they carry their heart on their sleeve and a song in their heart – and very literally so. Though the hallowed hallways of international corporates have unwritten policies of phones being on silent mode (like hospitals and libraries) there is no law that bars you from listening to the music of your choice in public places. And so, if you are in one, your ears will be inundated with music that is melodious, tasteful, the “dhinchak” ones, some of which can be downright tacky. The bourgeois and nouveau-riche crowd might snub this local taste in music and settle for the Michael Jackson and Eminem brand of music. But when no one’s around to judge and begrudge their choice, just once in a while, they will switch to an FM Hindi music channel while driving to work. They will lip-sync the popularly played Bollywood songs that are famous merely by virtue of being sung (not literally), by a particular muscle-flexing hero or a hip- gyrating heroin. Conditioning has a way of creeping up on you when you least expect it.Music is a staple Bollywood songs are the USP of Hindi movies and one that doesn’t boast of any is considered to be arty and retrograde and will be shunned by the “aam junta” or the common man. It is a very common sight to see people with headphones perched on their heads or earphones plugged into their ears. They are either tuned into an FM channel that plays Hindi songs 24/7 or to music that has been downloaded to their smartphones or MP3 players. When someone buys a phone today they check its memory capacity and its music compatibility. There was a time when FM was the undisputed music king, but too much of mindless babble from the hosts and an endless chain of advertisements took the charm out of these Radio channels within no time. The mirchis were stripped of their spice, the reds were stripped of their shades and music-lovers migrated to greener pastures.Music for all
