Report: Drake To Produce New TLC Album?

Published: Friday 11th Jan 2013 by David

After being enlisted to executive producer the latest posthumous Aaliyah album, it seems ‘HYFR‘ Rapper Drake has moved on to creative pastures new.

Pastures, that come in the form of the brand spanking new ‘TLC’ album.

Full story below…

In an interview with CNN, lead singer T-Boz revealed when quizzed on Left Eye‘s inclusion on their new material:

“We’re talking about with Drake and other people, so we’ll see‘.

If a contribution by Drake does come to fruition, it will mark what appears to be a rising trend led by Blackground Records, who- as mentioned earlier- named the Rapper the lead Creative on Aaliyah‘s forthcoming effort.

Perhaps hoping to bridge their classic sound with his ear for crafting contemporary smash hits, it will be interesting to see what the final product sounds like- and how fans of the ‘Creep‘ singers will respond critically and commercially.

Ok Miss Drake!! We see you! Don’t f*** up girl! And TBoz don’t ruin it with your stupid ass reality show

    • B*******! January 11, 2013

WTF……….Miss Drake? Yo, shut yo f***** ass up, what the f*** wrong with u. You do know thats a dude right?

      • YsoSERIOUS January 11, 2013

Umm, yes.. Miss Drake! Calm yourself down, you’re most likely not the first thug pillow biting power bottom to pick up on homo-innuendo. Geeez, Miss Drake’s stans just don’t know how to act!

      • mob January 11, 2013

Yes, Ms. DrakEvelyn! I’ll hav eot hear the maerial before I get excited. I need freh hand and eyes on new products. I’m tired of hearing from the same old ppl and Drake seems unable to mixit up!

  2. King bey January 11, 2013

Hell no, First Aaliyah, now tlc ? Leave the legends alone with your thirsty ass . Stick to your puppy dog love songs .

    • F****** Hairy (Lana & Gaga schoolin’ you) January 11, 2013

She asked Drake, not the other way around.

  3. JJFan1814 January 11, 2013

I think Drake can bring TLC back to the R&B/Hip-Hop forefront!!! But commercially relevant?? That’s a bit iffy unless he brings in big names for collabs, but I’m excited!!!

  4. -____________- January 11, 2013

    NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! 🙁

  5. F****** Hairy (Lana & Gaga schoolin’ you) January 11, 2013

No, just retire gracefully. I dont understand why the music stars of yester-year keep trying to revive their careers. Madonna is the highest selling female in history and even her last album didn’t perform well. What makes Tboz think TLC is immune to this?

    • Y January 11, 2013

      #Sit

  6. My forehead tho January 11, 2013

Everything you said after “it seems Rap King Drake” has become irrelevant. Clearly, you don’t know wtf your talking about -_-

      • F****** Hairy (Lana & Gaga schoolin’ you) January 11, 2013

Nobody wants to hear a bunch of grandmas on the radio. Look at Madonna & Mariah Carey.

      • ƸӜƷ MC ƸӜƷ January 11, 2013

Surprisingly they are both legends unlike your fave monster who could learn a thing or two about originality. On with the next, please.

    • TLCBOY1993 January 11, 2013

      TLCIS FOREVER YOU HOOD RAT!

  8. vanny January 11, 2013

    girl bye.
    i love left eye
i wish i could had collaborated with her

  10. King B>Rihanna January 11, 2013

Hell f*** and no………Drake will f*** up your legacy and the dumb Navy talking about relevance that is the only thing you can use to back your b****.It does not matter whether any body is checking for them fool.they are legends and legends never fade something your fav will never f****** see…Legends will always inspire the next and upcoming generation of artist so they will always be relevant. only dumb b****** who don’t know music history would push that s*** out of their mouths.

    • -____________- January 11, 2013

Gurllllllll Yes preaching to the choir you better say that s*** 2x okay

    • F****** Hairy (Lana & Gaga schoolin’ you) January 11, 2013

You are right, legends never fade but how will they fare in today’s music climate??????
This isn’t the 90’s anymore, they passed their peak. There are artists that are in the same boat with them from that generation that are struggling to sell today. Look at Brandy, Mariah Carey, Monica, Xtina, Usher, Toni Braxton, B. Spears, etc. Lets be honest, most of the young kiddies have no idea who TLC is unless they’re an absolute music junkie.

      • F****** Hairy (Lana & Gaga schoolin’ you) January 11, 2013

Lets not forget to mention, RnB is no longer ruling the charts anymore. These days RnB and RnB singers are being put on the back-burner.

      • King B>Rihanna January 11, 2013

Well somebody with sense. That’s hard to find on this blog.I understand what you said.I said in the rant that no one is checking for them but I hate it when dumb fools on here just plain out disrespect legends just because they are not popping off today.

      • Cam January 11, 2013

F*** “today’s climate.” All the time I hear you silly ass 90s babies talking about “generation” this and “generation” that…”the iTunes generation” doesn’t go for this….”how will they fare in today’s music climate?” BLAH BLAH BLAH. F*** all that. You lames don’t even buy your own supposed IT-acts albums, and instead opt for cheap ass singles like a bunch of b******. TLC, Usher, Mariah, etc. all went diamond. Aside from Adele, when was the last time someone you stan was even able to push multi-platinum?

When you break down the numbers, 90s stars really don’t do THAT much worse today than the so-called more “relevant” stars of late whose fans don’t seem to know what a CD or whole album is. You’ll have someone have the number one song for months, and then not buy 100k of their album when it drops. The f*** is that? Who in the hell are any of you to act cocky?

Go ahead and release that album TLC. I’ll buy it.

      • stav January 11, 2013

These fools don’t know. The iTunes generation celebrates a Gold-certification like it’s Diamond, and thinks that their faves having a 100 million video views on YouTube, or so many Twitter followers, is a “success.”

It’s very true that when you are an icon and/or legend, then you will always have a place at the table. That’s the whole point of paying dues and achieving success. Their place has been earned. Will TLC score a big hit album should they reband? No. But their past success left a big enough mark for there to still be fans who’re interested. That’s what matters. Not being embraced by dumbass Rihanna/Taylor Swift fans, who were born after 1996 and think that a phone is the equivalent of a stereo. Please.

    • SlayDeleAdkins January 11, 2013

      YASSSSS!! HONEY! PREACH!!!

    • tits mcgee January 11, 2013

I agree. Legends will always be relevant. I don’t hear anyone telling Diana Ross, Aretha, Patti, etc to sit. As music careers go long in music sales, and airplay dwindle. That doesn’t mean your voice, and passion stop or that there is no audience for you.

      This is their craft…..

      • tits mcgee January 11, 2013

Besides most seasoned artists use new albums as a promotional tool for their concert tours now. They know they don’t sell records as strong, but those arenas are packed with fans…

The ageism now is ridiculous. Your life doesn’t stop @ 25yo. It really is just beginning.

  11. Layla January 11, 2013

    Drake is crazy.

    • -____________- January 11, 2013

      Absolutely

  12. Monstarebel (HoneyChildPlease Mothered This H**) January 11, 2013

@KingBey were you trying to address me hun? Like come on now…..They gon drop that album & it’s guna flop… lets F****** be real people drake ain’t gone save s*** I’m pretty sure he’ll produce good tracks for them & thats it…

    • King B>Rihanna January 11, 2013

First, girl you ain’t real when you can comment on a Rihanna post and say Gurl that was not good then you are real who are always up under he ass and that is way she will never grow because you take every s*** that she give you and run with I FIND IT FUNNY U always REAL and every other artist post except Rihanna so drop that REAL b*******.Real is when people like me can come on a Beyonce post and say girl stop talking about songwriting cause we know you don’t write your songs. We require growth from our artist. So can drop the fake shell of being REAL.

      • SdotB January 13, 2013

Beyoncé does write some of her songs!! She’s always co-written (sometimes solely) on songs, even back in the DC days!!

  13. Savannah January 11, 2013

Tboz and chilli, just leave it alone. Y’all didn’t learn from the last flop album? Loved y’all in the 90s, but your time is up ESPECIALLY without crazy Left Eye.

    • SG3 January 11, 2013

Good music has nothing to do with sales; and check your facts; 3D sold 2 million copies and you calling that a flop. The acts that are at the top of the game now aint selling that. Bring on some new music TLC! Besides it’s the soundtrack for the movie; and alot of ppl will be checking for that movie with all the drama that surrounded them as well with “What’s Love Got to do With it ” director on board!

  14. King B>Rihanna January 11, 2013

Oops the akaward moment when people try to reply to me and forgot I said they comments shall be paid dust and the uttermost.Dumb b****** keep talking s***.

    i can’t

  19. Dev January 11, 2013

Oh Aubrey (and not O’Day) your desire to be part of a girl group has gone too far! You will not be replacing Left Eye (RIP) and i think this is not a good look. Take a step back.

  20. Truth (Number 1 Nicki Stan) January 11, 2013

Drakeisha need’s to sit her ass all the way down

  21. SlayDeleAdkins January 11, 2013

    EWWWW! Why??

  22. CzarM January 11, 2013

As much as I liked TLC and would champion a reunion/comeback, the group died with Left Eye, There is no TLC without all three members present.

  23. S****** Blonde January 11, 2013

You can buy your hair if it won’t grow
You can fix your nose if he says so
You can buy all the make-up that mac can make
But if you can’t look inside you
Find out who am I, too
Be in a position to make me feel so damn unpretty

    • ADC143 January 11, 2013

That was deep. Did you come up with that yourself?

      Shut up.

    • mob January 11, 2013

I loved that song that was actually penned by T-Boz!

  24. k ruler January 11, 2013

TLC Done set the trend so they dont need to proove s*** to nobody. drake might do afew songs but not a whole album…u ppl are to f****** gullable lol.

lastly who says nobody is checking for tlc? like u s*** hole c**** are talking for the world. sit ya bloodclart p**** asses down. chat to rasshole much….big up tlc for putting new s*** out for their fans..u c**** stick to whats cheesy and current!

    • tits mcgee January 11, 2013

      Preach!

  25. HoneychildPlease January 11, 2013

I wonder where aubrey will get their faces tattooed on his body. This weird looking young man scares the hell out of me…he’s like that white kid from American Beauty

  26. ADC143 January 11, 2013

Ugh. If T-Boz and Chilli do another TLC album, then I don’t want Drake anywhere near it. Bring back Dallas Austin and Babyface. That’s the template for a TLC album. I don’t need no Drake, no Rico Love, no Guetta, no Calvin Harris, no RedOne, no electropop. None of that. Gimme a REAL TLC sounding album, or don’t do it.

The f*** is with Drake trying to reproduce all these girl acts anyway? Makes me question him…

    • irene46 January 11, 2013

you mean the babyface that stole toni braxton blind?! hmmm.

  27. stav January 11, 2013

Drake ain’t foolin’ nobody. He just wants to stand in Left Eye’s old spot.

  28. ƸӜƷ MC ƸӜƷ January 11, 2013

    Umm, no.

  29. eric January 11, 2013

Boooo. Chilli & T-Boz are smarter than this. I’ll give it a chance as long as I don’t have to hear Drake’s voice on any part of it.

  30. LetsBeHonest22 January 11, 2013

Chile Drake is gon’ be like Phadrea in a minute and open up a funeral home.

  31. MISHKA January 11, 2013

I swear, Drake has a fascination for dead people.

That’s why they Grammys snubbed you Draya, you’re creeeeeeeepy!

    Who’s next, Amy Winehouse?

  32. mc the place to be! January 11, 2013

What there’s no left eye though tlc are legends they don’t need to put out anything else their the only group that sings r&b to have a diamond record I wish these people #drake to leave these legends alone and let them be legendary who’s next en Vogue? Drake go make another album if not go sit down somewhere!

  33. Caramelboi January 11, 2013

I get so tired of sum of u chaps or youngins as my grandma would say. Y’all don’t knw anything about the history r art of real music from real artists and not fake gimmick artists. As sumone said above TLC r already legends and sold millions of records and r one of the best girl groups to ever do it. They don’t have to prove anything and yes they still have a fanbase. Why would they want to bow out gracefully when they r still able sing and perform. Hell patti labelle, aretha, madonna, sade and etc r still doing their thang by putting out albums and touring around the world and arenas be packed out. They r way older then tlc are. Hell lionel richie came back with a vengence with his last album and went platinum in months. He sold more records last year than he had in awhile. So plzzzzz exit to the left with dat BS.

  34. CHUDDS January 11, 2013

No. No. No. No. No. T&C can have a seat. There is no group without Left Eye.

  35. IDK January 12, 2013

Interesting, curious and happy to see how this turns out. And Tboz please get BACK IN SHAPE ASAP BEFORE YAL EVEN THINK OF DROPPING A SINGLE.

  36. savonn January 12, 2013

    that would be so dope!

  37. Leon January 14, 2013

    Hope it happens!

  38. Bbbbb January 23, 2013

TLC is one of the greatest groups of all time. I would buy it. Long love TLC.
