Watch: Melanie Fiona & Chrisette Michele Salute Whitney Houston With Tribute Performances

Published: Thursday 14th Feb 2013 by Rashad

As music fans know, this week saw the one-year anniversary of the passing of late pop icon Whitney Houston.

To commemorate such, Billboard is collecting some of this generation’s top vocal performers to salute the diva by covering numbers from her catalog of hits.  Kicking off the week-long tribute to Houston are R&B belles Chrisette Michele & Melanie Fiona.

While Michele chose to put her jazzy spin on Whitney’s up-tempo top hit ‘I Wanna Dance With Somebody’, Fiona opted to slow things down with a stirring performance of ‘One Moment In Time’.  See the starlets shine below:

These are real & talented RnB singers. Of course Mary wouldn’t mention them when asked about RnB because she is now neither talented or real -_-

Kudos to Chrisette and Melanie for keeping real RnB alive

Although relatively unknown in the US i would’ve loved to have seen Alexandra Burke do a Billboard tribute., also Tiffany Evans and JoJo to name a few.

    These girls did good

    RIP legendary Whitney Houston
These girls are really good and have their own style. Perfect tributes, specially what they said and the vids they used. Great job

I agree with Jer; know they mean well but the only person who makes a good attempt is Jennifer Hudsen!
