Jennifer Hudson stunned spectators in her Donna Karan ensemble last night as she strutted her way to the dedication of a new ‘Weight Watchers’ center in honor of the company’s founder Jean Nidetch.
Simultaneously celebrating its 50th anniversary, the weight loss titans tapped J.Hud – its present spokesperson – to share news about her weight loss journey.
While there, the soon-to-be-Mrs. Otunga shared news on her new album as well and her thoughts on this season of American Idol (including Nicki Minaj vs. Mariah Carey).
See some quotes and photos from the event below:
On Nicki Minaj/Mariah Carey feud and watching the show:
I haven’t been able to watch. I hear things, but I haven’t been able to watch this season. I always thought that was for TV. I’m like, I don’t know if it’s real. But then I guess it could be, and sometimes the ladies get catty, so that’s probably what’s happening.
On new album:
“My first album had a lot of controversy about the cover because they made me look so tiny and everyone was like, ‘She doesn’t look like that, she’s not that small.'”
“I am loving the process this time around,” she said. “I am in the producer’s chair. I am very hands-on in every way you can imagine from lyrics to music to producing.”

The singer’s stop by the anniversary event came shortly after news that NBC’s ‘Smash’ – where Hudson is the leading guest star – is moving to Saturday nights to combat ailing ratings starting April 6th.
I hope this time around she gets good relevant material with a genuine hit and a good PR team. Something to get her to where she ought to be
