Erykah and maxwell are exceptions , they still do that kind of classy old school R&B songs , but as i said , they are exceptional , every R&B record out there sound the same ! and for a POP album , 20/20 is Good , not over-the-top kind of innovative , but def something new compared to what’s on the radio ATM.
and Channel orange is overrated. and i liked “TRUE” !

Black artists do not sell because there is nothing NEW they deliver in their album , CONTENT-wise , THEMES-wise , LYRICS-wise and all.
ADELE sold a lot of her last album not because she was WHITE , but because she was so different from the others and the most distinctive with her lyrics and all , NOT because she was white , USHER sold millions as well in 2005 because of the same reason , f the album is innovative and different PPL will BUY no matter what , you BLACKS should not let anybody tell you what’s your limit , work hard and get noticed for the right reasons.
There is nothing “random” about D’Angelo, Maxwell, Frank Ocean, Bilal, Dawn Richard, Solange, and Miguel.
You stated that black artists are not “innovative” and I gave you seven examples of black artists who ARE innovative. And there are a host of others. If you disagree, fine.
If you are suggesting that MAINSTREAM R & B (none of the artists I mentioned are mainstream) isn’t innovative then, yes, I agree with you. It’s not & I don’t listen to it. But to say that black artists aren’t innovative is just flat-out wrong and that is what I am taking issue with.
Adele. I like Adele. I own ’21.’ I like ’21.’ However, that album is FAR from a masterpiece. Tawiah and Szjerdene, just to name two UK examples, are much better writers than her. Amy Winehouse was a much better writer than her. If you want to believe that Adele has sold 22 million copies of ’21’ ONLY because she has “worked hard” and that she is “an innovative writer,” fine.
Again, bringing up President Obama’s name in a discussion on music sales is illogical. His position as president has absolutely NO BEARING on how black artists sale or don’t sale, which is why bringing him up in this type of discussion, logically, makes no sense. There is no connection. If you want to continue to use this analogy, fine, but it’s still a fallacy.
And what the f*** is so “innovative” about white/dance-pop s***? Most of it sounds like it was hijacked from some gay euro dance club circa 1994.

this album is solid. I do not understand why people are saying negative things about 20/20. It has a nice flow from beginning to end. If it had to have a grade, I say a B+.
Also For the lambs, Have ya’ll seen Mariah lately (fabulous) This may be a good year for music. People are making their way to the spot light. Justin, Mariah, Beyonce, so many artist to look forward to.
Music is an art not a competition. Some of y’all need to grow up. JT will always do big numbers and the reason isn’t that concrete, but the artist comparisons need to cease.smh

good for him those numbers are incredible! but have a feeling people will be highly disappointed after they own and hear the album! only amazin track on it is “mirrors” the rest are crap for lack of a better word-had high expectations after Future S**-guess i was wrong maybe part 2 will be better
