She’s the Rap icon with a legacy with rooted in the core of Hip Hop itself. However, despite her long list of successes scored between ’96 and the early noughties,
Lil Kim has seen her brand overshadowed by reports surrounding her aesthetic. More specifically, reports that suggest she has dabbled in cosmetic surgery.
Now, after the above picture of her leaving a promotional appearance two days ago was sent to media outlets across the globe, she has hit out at them with claims that the image has been ‘photo shopped’ to damage her brand.

In a statement released by one of her representatives, the following is explained:
“We would like to inform fans, the media, and the general public that this is nothing more than the blog site doing its best to conjure up much needed publicity and what better way to do so, than to take an American music icon and create a fictitious platform in which to disrespect and humiliate.
We at Team Lil’ Kim are not taking this lying down and are taking this matter very seriously”.
While giving no indication as to what they meant by the last line, the statement – released exclusively to E!- marks the latest time where her team has accused news outlets of altering images of her, following her appearance BET’s ‘Rip The Runway’ event in 2012.
Quite interestingly, one urban website in particular has been targeted by the Rapper’s camp as the main culprits for the conspiracy, even though numerous media outlets shared the same images with their readers.
Outlets, that include the UK’s ‘Daily Mail‘ and Ariana Huffington‘s ‘Huffington Post‘, both of whom would have sourced the said images directly from photographers at ‘the scene’.
What’s also interesting, is that her camp are yet to respond to a live footage released by Time Warner’s ‘TMZ’ last month, which sees the Rapper during a trip to Los Angeles- sporting a ‘similar look’ to the one sported in the now controversial image above.
