Published: Thursday 18th Apr 2013 by Sam

Beyonce‘s new tour ‘The Mrs. Carter Show’ is earning praise aplenty for being a musical must-see.

Now, the global jaunt has become even more enticing; for it has today been announced that vocal powerhouse Luke James has been tapped to open the European leg of the trek.

Details and dates below…

Speaking on being picked by the 17-time Grammy winner, James -who was recently nominated for Grammy  himself- said:

“It is such an unimaginable honor to be sharing the light yet again with Beyoncé on her sold out Mrs. Carter Show World Tour. This is a blessing that I do not take lightly. Thank you Beyoncé.”

Beyonce added in a press statement:

“Luke James is a gifted singer and songwriter and what he does on stage with his pure falsetto is incredible.  I am excited to have him join the tour and to introduce this soulful singer to an audience in Europe that will be discovering a true star”.

The slot is a major coup for the New Orleans’ native, who returns home in July to play the Essence Music Festival. He is also flex his acting skills in the upcoming ‘Black Nativity’ movie, which co-stars Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Jennifer Hudson and Mary J. Blige.
