Set to receive the 2,500th star on the walk, Lopez will arrive at Hollywood Boulevard today to celebrate with fans, the press and members of the general public- all of whom will look on as she is celebrated for her work in movies, music, philanthropy and the efforts she has made to encourage diversity in television.
On Lopez, the producer of Walk of Fame Ceremonies (Ana Martinez) revealed:
“In 1994, Sophia Loren became the recipient of the 2,000th star on the Walk of Fame. This ceremony marks the 2,500th star on our famous Walk and Jennifer Lopez was the obvious choice!”
The prestigious honour comes months before the release of the star’s eighth studio album, and as she gears up to star in a drama based on 2010’s Copiapo mining accident, where 33 Chilean miners were trapped in the 121 year old San Jose copper-gold mine.
The movie will see her star alongside Antonio Banderas and Martin Sheen.
