New Song: Mariah Carey & Miguel – ‘Beautiful (Spanglish Remix)’

Published: Thursday 27th Jun 2013 by David

As to keep the song’s buzz as high as possible this month, tonight saw Mariah Carey & Miguel release a ‘Spanglish’ remix to their collaborative hit ‘Beautiful‘.

Unfortunately, they could have really done without it.

For, in what really is an insult to the original cut, it’s far too easy to hear where Spanish lyrics have been copied and pasted onto the original audio- making for an uncomfortably cheap listen.

Listen below…

Had they recorded the entire cut in Spanish, this attempt to penetrate that market would have worked. Instead, what we have here is a lazy attempt at spawning a remix for the sake of spawning a remix.

A shame, considering how good the A$AP Rocky version of the jam sounds.

Your thoughts?

I disagree, I thought that this remix was better than the A$AP one which did seem like a copy & paste job to me. This Spanglish version sounded like the verses were resung. I liked it.

  3. DOSSOME June 27, 2013

Bye samantha…i actually love this version better than the other remix…they sound so good in spanish

    • Your P**** Latino June 27, 2013

You like it coz u don’t speak spanish. Any spanish spoken lad can’t understand any word of it. Maybe this version is sung in esperanto.

      • Adrian June 27, 2013

LAD??? You sound like an authentic Spanish speaking person.

  4. Slick Rick June 27, 2013

    @Johnvidal and @Dossome : [pending post]

    see , I told you so….

I wanted a remixes EP and she will give me just that 😛

    😉

    #random :

I bought MOAIA ” physical copy” and itunes LP version…. #MAJAH

she didn’t have to add those “obsessed” remixes though…

    • DOSSOME June 27, 2013

      @Pop
Wait, she’s releasing a remixes EP?I don’t even know what to say…I just hope this doesn’t prevent her from giving me an album soonest possible.

I agree, those Obsessed remixes were totally unnecessary..So,what are your favorites from MOAIA?Mine were Ribbon & Angels Cry

      • POP ROYALTY [RUDE BOY] June 27, 2013

now all i miss is a david morales remix and i will be in heaven………… #DreamingBut

no , she will release 2 Eps before releasing the album , she did one for “Triumphant” which was cool and now i think she is going for the “#Beautiful” one…

the album is clearly a Grower , but ATM , I love “candy Bling” ” the impossible” , “angels cry” ,” i want to know what love is” and the perfect ” H.A.T.E.U” .
some other songs sound like each other though……… but it is Great, need just an open mind when listening, 4.5/5!

        @ pop
Yeah I told you it´s a grower, it´s not easy for the casual listener, and it sounds too much the same from start to finish (remember I told you it was all The Dream´s influence, like no other person had in a Mariah album before). But it´s a great addition to her catalogue. It was different from her previous effort and I´m sure very different from this new album.

    • JOHNVIDAL June 28, 2013

Wow you finally bought that one too? If you have Charmbracelet and MOAIA then you are a big fan boy… lol

  6. TeamBreezy June 27, 2013

    Ok this is getting ridiculous

  7. POP ROYALTY [RUDE BOY] June 27, 2013

Actually i agree with @sam considering the poor Mixing and editing of this remix, sounds like when you listen to a cheap tagged M** version of a song.

Stop playing Mariah…. and i need whoever edited that song fired right now.

  8. riri slay June 27, 2013

what did I just hear…. this b**** need to chill and stop using this boy and boy to stay relevant.

    @Pop
It lacked the commercial appeal that E=MC2 had,but as you said,if you listen to it with an open mind,it’s actually a good album though it takes time to fully enjoy it,something the casual listener didn’t have the patience for….i’m challenged to get myself a physical copy as well.Funny thing i realized is these Mariah albums that “flopped” and got ridiculed in the process could actually go head-to-head with the TEOMs & Music Boxes of this world if only listeners kept it simply about the music.

    • POP ROYALTY [RUDE BOY] June 27, 2013

well , i always keep it about the music when it comes to her, it is a “grower” , like you need to remove any initial opinion you had about it before blasting it in order to enjoy it, i do that , try it! (including the commercial BS , you enjoy music because you enjoy it , it’s success or lack thereof should not affect you)

music box is my fav album by her.

MOAIA and E=Mc2 can be continuations to “TEOM’ if you put them in a playlist , i don’t get how can you like one and you simply can’t have the energy to like the other 2 while they are like the improved versions of ” TEOM”? maybe the lambs standards are too high , but i’m cool.

    ….. oh.

  12. S****** Blonde June 27, 2013

    I love spanish.

    • steph June 27, 2013

Who is that white m***** in your avi?

      • S****** Blonde June 27, 2013

How you dare?, that’s Grunge God Kurt Cobain.

  13. JARED (WHITE DUDE) June 27, 2013

    The original >>>>>>>

  14. JLo June 27, 2013

    i remain, UNFAZED

    • Adrian June 27, 2013

Well it’s a good thing that Mariah’s Latin fans in other countries love it. Meanwhile you & Pitbull can continue to make authentic music together.

      • JLo June 28, 2013

Because Mariah has dropped Spanish albums that have hit top 10, went platinum and sold out stadiums throughout Latin America. Yup, we’re still in the studio working on our authentic hits and clapping Mimi for her 3rd grade spanish skills.

  15. Fifi June 27, 2013

I like it better than that s***** RAP version that came out yesterday.

  16. FAF June 27, 2013

Okei. Well, she’s staying true to her roots bc her father WAS venezuelan…

  17. Gary C June 27, 2013

As a big Mariah fan I’m concerned by this. It’s not great, just like the rap remix before it. If this is deemed ‘good enough’ who knows what the dance remixes will sound like 🙁

  18. Bard June 27, 2013

    Um…#Wack
    Just like the original.

  19. Adrian June 27, 2013

I love it! Will I listen to it in place of the original? No, because I don’t listen to Spanish music on a daily. Mariah always appeals to her global fanbases with remixes, Spanish versions of songs, ballads, etc. She has a fanbase that enjoys the many facets of her talents.

This was also an homage to her father who the video was dedicated to. She restored his car as it appears in the #Beautiful video and featured a sunflower in his honor. Now she’s singing a song in Spanish and paying tribute to her father’s Venezuelan roots. #Beautiful

  20. JOHNVIDAL June 28, 2013

Oh yes Mariah! I just knew about this Spanglish remix two days ago and now it´s already here. A really nice surprise. Some of the words are really funny, the way they promounce them. She speaks good (the ending), singing in Spanish is not that easy for her though, but it was still good. I of course appreciate all the new vocals in Spanish.

  21. JOHNVIDAL June 28, 2013

Also, Sam: how can you dislike so much this remix with new vocals but love the previous one which was basically the same? It´s impossible to understand you #honey!

  22. QUEEN MINAJ June 28, 2013

ALL THESE PROMO AND IS STILL NOT PLATINUM 🙁
MISS GRANDE RELEASED THE SPANGLISH VERSION FIRST 😛
