Toni Braxton Teases New Music; Due September

Published: Thursday 6th Jun 2013 by Sam

Toni Braxton shocked the music world earlier this year after revealing her plans to retire.

At the time, it appeared the wear-and-tear of 20-year career had taken its toll on the Grammy-winning diva.

However, it seems the ‘Unbreak My Heart’ singer has had a change of mind – much to the delight of her legion of loyal fans. For, today saw the mother of two tease a new collaborative project with fellow R&B icon Babyface.

Taking to all of her social media accounts, the soulful contralto wrote:

Coming this September…
Find out more on tonight’s brand new episode of Braxton Family Values tonight at 9/8 C on WE tv!

Word has it the pair, whose hits include ‘Breathe Again’ and ‘You’re Making Me High’, have conjured up a Motown flavoured duet album – which is literally music to our ears.

Here’s hoping it serves as the springboard needed for Ms. Braxton to continue recording. She’s too legendary and her talent is too intact to let sales or politics stop her sharing her gift!

Keep it locked on That Grape Juice for the full tea once its poured.

I’m def here for a duets album of classics. Not here for her uptempo trying to be Rihanna in the video joints.

As long as it doesnt sound like that i heart u BS

Co-sign. “I Heart You” is the worst thing Toni ever did, and that’s saying a lot considering the past few albums she’s had weren’t that good. Hopefully Babyface can get her head back on straight.

girl when i heard this i broke out in a praise dance.

From what she said on tv a few months back, it sounded like she didn’t want to do music anymore because she wasn’t selling and making the money she used to. I guess that can make you crazy when you’re stressing about sales and trying not to flop. I think that’s great she’s working with him again. I hope they can make it sound as good as her first album he did.

  9. MUSICHEAD June 6, 2013

YES, YES and YES!!! A Babyface/Toni Braxton duets album is just what they both need to get back on track.

Toni’s career will NEVER be over. Not with a voice like that!

As long as she don’t give us another dance record like I heart u. And sticks to ballads and r&b music. I’m good

  11. JOHNVIDAL June 6, 2013

A duets album is such a good idea. It´s perfect for both of them at this moment. But Toni girl: why did you play with us? 🙂

  12. MONICA STAN *LOVE ALL OVA ME* June 6, 2013

Ain’t nobody in here gon buy her music. It will flop like her past couple of albums #FACT

    • Al June 6, 2013

False fact. Only Pulse flopped. Libra and the one before that did not, they still went gold.

  13. Suicide Blonde June 6, 2013

I love her voice, she is so underrated.

    • Mark111 June 7, 2013

Right?! It’s kinda hard to think that she’s Mairah’s peer. Her jumping from label to lable and the broke thing really damage her career.

  14. s0nny June 6, 2013

    Since when is a #1 R&B album in 2010 a flop?
    60+million album sales and Grammys
A true artist with a gift of a voice
A much deserved comeback is welcome

Please! Stick to your RiRi & Beyawnce. Leave the legends to the true R&B fans

  15. Back2J June 6, 2013

Toni Braxton will release a new record & after that she will retire from music to focus on her acting career. Noooo!!! We need her….she’s is one of the greatest female vocalists after 20 plus years in game!

  19. DOSSOME June 6, 2013

i’ve enjoyed all her albums, well, except MORE THAN A WOMAN….I heard several of her friends (Babyface,Missy etc) have been really persuading her to get back to the studio…I can’t wait

*Plays LET IT FLOW for the MILLIONTH time*

  20. Mark111 June 7, 2013

I respect Toni cause she for acting her age and making music that matches. Unlike these old b****** trying so hard to look, act and sing young (Mariah, Madonna)

    • DOSSOME June 7, 2013

B****,you’re only salty both Mariah and Madonna have enduring careers, fame and fortune….trying hard to sing young?Grow a brain.
