New Video: Chris Brown – ‘Don’t Think They Know (ft. Aaliyah)’

Published: Monday 17th Jun 2013 by Sam

After ample teasing (and a touch of controversy), the video for Chris Brown‘s Aaliyah collaboration ‘Don’t Think They Know’ has been unwrapped.

The clip for the cut, which is the latest to be lifted from C. Breezy’s new album ‘X’, features the singer dancing “with” the late R&B diva by way of visual projection. As many know, Aaliyah died in a tragic plane crash in 2001 aged just 22.

Watch Brown honor her legacy in this self-directed video after the jump…

    Very impressed mate!

    Rest In Peace Aaliyah.

    • Ballsy June 17, 2013

Nice song. My only fault is I would have loved to see more of Aaliyah as opposed to his thugalong leeches he has with him in that vehicle!

    • dsgdxbxcndf547 June 17, 2013

      • FAF June 17, 2013

LOL @ HIM DOING THIS JUST BC DRAKE DID IT.. SONG IS OK, THOUGH

  2. Emeral June 17, 2013

I wasn’t feelin him using Aaliyah like Drake but this is actually nice.

  3. Navy Sailor June 17, 2013

    The song & video >>>>>>>>
This will smash urban. ‘Tis all!

  4. MrBizo June 17, 2013

    SICK….SICK….SICK!!!!

Thats dope as hell!!! Great job on the track
    and the video Breezy!!!

  5. TheTRUTH June 17, 2013

OH BUT WHEN DRAKE WANTED TO DO THIS, IT WAS A PROBLEM. K.

    • Navy Sailor June 17, 2013

Drake wanted to do an entire album, and people were creeped out by his Aaliyah obsession. His song sucked anyway.

      • kc36 June 17, 2013

I agree with this. He was just doing too much and it looked like he was Obsessed with her which was creepy to me. You got to take baby steps to get people back in and that is what chris did and he don’t look like a stalker lol.

    • blackswan June 17, 2013

Drake made his aaliyah song a diss song that’s why it was a problem

      • BitchICan’tEvenSpellWelfare June 17, 2013

        @Blackswan, exactly! It was a disgusting move–period.

    • Meme June 17, 2013

Drake tried to do an ENTIRE album without asking permission from her family or the people who worked with her and knew her the most Timbaland & Missy. Drake just took it upon himself to try & put together an album from her unreleased material. Chris just got permission from her label to use her vocals on a unreleased track.

Besides Drakes verse on ‘Enough Said’ was TACKY & DISRESPECTFUL and had nothing to do with the song! He was calling people ‘b******’ & ‘n*ggas’ and Aaliyah NEVER had that type of language on her records! Aaliyah was too classy for that. Plus Drake threw in a diss to Chris on his record which was disrespectful to Aaliyah’s memory. He was supposed to be honoring Aaliyah’s memory not dissing other artist on her song!

Chris song has no profanity, no sneak disses, just a touching to Aaliyah and her memory. Chris did it the RIGHT way!

‘Dont Think They Know’ >>>>>>>>> ‘Enough Said’!

      Period!!

      • in all honesty June 17, 2013

I agree with meme 100%. Drake used that song to take shots, it wasn’t about paying homage. Drake however did get permission from her record label blackground and chris got it too. her family (apart from her uncle who owns BG) don’t hold the rights to the music unfortunately. look up the truth about blackground on youtube. if it isn’t with her original team or a duets album with 90s artists/isley brothers and other inspirations, i won’t support.

  6. IDK June 17, 2013

This is nice! I like it! Very well put together. I see you Breezy!

  7. Alex June 17, 2013

I love this song, I just wish incorporated Aaliyah better. It’s 2013, and there is a lot of technology out there, her tribute should have had more presence.

  8. mike June 17, 2013

Aaliyah’s part is the best thing about it

  9. Me Damnit!! June 17, 2013

Loved the song! Aaliyah’s vocals were so smooth and beautiful. The video was very tasteful and a nice tribute to her memory. Good Job CB.

  10. FuckDrake June 17, 2013

this is a classy way to tribute Aaliyah Drake sucks! BYE

  11. Robert June 17, 2013

Hate both the song and video… Aaliyah brings nothing to the song. Nothing special. Chris Brown… I know you can do way better than this.

    • Jimir June 17, 2013

Aaliyah brings everything to the song. She is the song. Had Chris Brown released it by himself, I’m sorry but it would have flopped just like ‘Flop China’. Aaliyah saved the day once again 🙂 but is ur opinion.

      • bitchpleaseeeeeeeeeee June 17, 2013

YSE ROBERTA BTICH BABYGIRL SAVED THE DAY SO RECOGNISE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  12. BitchICan’tEvenSpellWelfare June 17, 2013

    Well done Chris! Very nice.

    • Sterling Infinity #SexDrone June 17, 2013

      i agree

  13. Nate June 17, 2013

He’s trying so hard to be genuine, but it’s not working.

He’s also clearly jacking Drake’s flow near the end of the first verse, but…

  14. kc36 June 17, 2013

I thought this was gonna be bad but hey I was wrong. The beat is nice and Aaliyah was a nice touch to the song. I think if drake handled it better instead of a letter and then going about a whole album of her material I don’t know it just looked like stalking or something. Anyway, chris did a good job with this. Sometimes you got to take baby steps. Especially with someone as special as Aaliyah.

  15. in all honesty June 17, 2013

#AaliyahForever not here for post 2002 “artists” using Aaliyah for their own success. if anyone knows the FACTS about blackground they wont support this.

  16. Shauwndapooh June 17, 2013

I love aaliyah and this song is good rip its a problem when drake did it because he used the song to bash chris that wasnt what aaliyah about and the beat they were using.

  17. Mark111 June 17, 2013

HUE Aaliyah fan here, since 96. This was great, it’s nice to hear her voice. Although I like the other version better, this also has a whole new meaning. Chris could’ve kept the glowing eyes, but I still enjoyed it. NOW I would love to hear an unreleased song from Aaliyah ALONE! It’s been a long time…

  18. POP ROYALTY (Bohemian Grove) June 17, 2013

the song is Nice, but i wanna know the message in this……..

and using “Aaliyah” symbolizes what ?

Loved when he was surrounded by african american lil kids and disliked when he was eye-less wearing black.

    4/5

  19. Yeah I Said It June 17, 2013

    I like it!

  20. B4REAL02 June 17, 2013

Gotta give CB many PROPS for this!!! Love it love it love !!!!!

    • Love the AVI June 17, 2013

I love you pic,,,,Monica all day…Patiently waits on new album…2014.

  21. JER June 17, 2013

First, the song is weak. But it is good to hear Aaliyah’s voice. The video is try hard and the blips of colour are distracting. It shoulda just been all black and white.

    • Nunya June 17, 2013

      The b

      • Nunya June 17, 2013

What I was trying to say is, the blips of color are there on purpose. Clearly the concept was lost on you. The beginning of the video talks about innocent lives being lost and we should just love each other. Then you see the video is shot is gang and crime filled Compton. Then you see red(bloods), then blue(crips), then every color because we shouldn’t be separated by the other two. The video is anti gang violence. Towards the end we see that a friend of his most likely died due to gang violence which was the purpose for this video.

      • JER June 17, 2013

There’s no “concept” to the video sweetie. It’s a typical hip-hop video of people running around the streets. They made it black and white to seem deep and added random bits of colour to make it seem “artistic.” I didn’t realize colouring someone’s Chuck Taylor’s and hair was such a RICH concept. Try again. And don’t try to clock me again, ho I will reach thru the internet and throw your bones.

    • XTINAALOVEE June 17, 2013

Finally a real opinion! people know this song isn’t all that but they dont want to say nothing bad cause aaliyahs on the track

      • makaela June 17, 2013

Chris brown is full of s*** I remember when allyiah was out all these black people would critisize her and say she cant sing now u goons loving her now rest in peace my girl as for chris is career is over no one cares for his music besides those horny girls who want to sleep with him

  22. Naira June 17, 2013

    Love itttt. CB did that

  23. Nunya June 17, 2013

I love how instead of making a diss song like Drake did, CB put subtle hints in the video(like the kids shirt that says YOLO), but didnt bring his drama into a song with Aaliyah. Good job Chris. great song and video. definitely better than Drake’s. don’t act like people aren’t going to compare.

  24. Aaliyah Lives On! June 17, 2013

I love this song with Chris and Aaliyah unlike Drake with his curse words. Aaliyah was Classy! Until something from Aaliyah is released, let me enjoy one of my favorite

    • Adrian June 17, 2013

      YESS! One of my fav’s!

  25. HOWYOULIKEIT June 17, 2013

Chile please let babygirl rest in peace

  26. HoneychildPlease June 17, 2013

I love this song..The thing is C.B need to leave this thug life image behind, because it is bringing him down! He needs to clean up his image…But good song non the less!

    • Sterling Infinity #SexDrone June 17, 2013

i can’t with your picture… “honey the shade of it all”

      • HOWYOULIKEIT June 17, 2013

his previous picture was so hot

  27. CBE June 17, 2013

He did a great job, like many people I would also would have liked more Aaliyah in the video, surely sufficient technology is available to have her feature in the video instead of being relegated to the background but the vocals, sound are great.

  28. XTINAALOVEE June 17, 2013

Using Aaliyahs name to sell i see aaliyah does nothing for the song. I doubt she would want a woman beater on a track with her.

    • Touché June 17, 2013

      Exactly.

    • KingBey June 17, 2013

sit ur dusty self down u dont know her … ur press

  29. King B>Rihanna June 17, 2013

Aaliyah better f****** slay from 6 feet under.

    • XTINAALOVEE June 17, 2013

      Aaliyah > Beyonce

      • King B>Rihanna June 17, 2013

        hello fan,how are you today?

  30. XTINAALOVEE June 17, 2013

This song is weak if aaliyah wasnt on the track no one would give a f*** #Pow i said it

    • Adrian June 17, 2013

Get you some damn business. You are living in the comments section today. Go home.

  31. aliyahfan4lyfe June 17, 2013

NOW I LOVE THIS SONG & as much as I wasn’t a fan of Aaliyah this song is beautiful & yea Chris needs to lay off the THUG’n be a normal Dude these days!!

  33. Super Cisus June 17, 2013

Thug gangster criminal don’t drag sweet precious angel Aaliyah into ur foolery

  34. Tiffany June 17, 2013

its only good cause of aaliyah’s voice

  35. TruthSpeaker June 17, 2013

    ->Biggest Aaliyah stan EVER<-

I'll say the same that I said about Drake. I appreciate hearing Aaliyah's voice again on something different; but I don't appreciate Aaliyah's music being used without her family's consent. That includes Missy & Timbo.. got a problem with my opinion, oh f***** well. i don't take you seeds seriously anyways because you spend your time stanning for no talent-act stealing acts like Riri & Beyonka so f*** y'all

  36. Back 2 J June 17, 2013

Very disappointed with this track… Digital Black’s original version with Aaliyah was better than this. Usually they put a featuring artist vocals close to the beginning or middle of a song, not wait till the end of the song. The verses do not go well with Aaliyah’s verse compared to the original. To be honest Aaliyah’s verse was the best part of the whole song.

    • Mark111 June 17, 2013

I agree. Digital Black used a demo vocals, I heard that Aaliyah re recorded it and it’s a full song. I don’t know why they didn’t just release the full song with just Aaliyah. It’s been 11 years since we heard anything new from Aaliayh, I think it’s time to give the fans something and not features and samples. I know I want some new songs, and only Aaliyah unless it was an original feature artist.

  37. Damnit Christopher! June 17, 2013

I haven’t been this excited for a Chris Brown song/video since Run It & Gimme That. This s*** right here………yes ma’am. That’s all I have to say.

  38. AALIYAH STILL SLAYS! June 17, 2013

Aaliyah has been dead for 12 years, yet she is still better than some of yall favs.

  39. Sterling Infinity #SexDrone June 17, 2013

a beautiful way of keeping in the minds of those who never heard her before.

  40. Oh Yeah!!! June 17, 2013

Aaliyah that girl Rihanna is a Copy cat!! Look at Aaliyah, Rihanna copied her style straight up!

    Styles Rihanna stole!!!
    Fefe Dobson
    Beyonce
    Cassie
    Victoria Beckham

Who will be the next victim? Miss you Aaliyah!!!

  41. Cookie – Rihanna – Toni Braxton June 17, 2013

I need this beat with only Aaliyah’s vocals on it. Then I’m good.

  42. Touché June 17, 2013

Nice song. I still don’t appreciate him using her vocals in the first place but it’s still a nice song only because of her anyway.

  43. i&i(bare badniss) June 17, 2013

I am in love with everything abt this song and video “tears”

  44. Adrian June 17, 2013

I was skeptical at first! I do feel that the video and song don’t match but I love what Chris is trying to accomplish with this! This will be an Urban banger!

Aaliyah’s vocals sound amazing on this and the finished product of this is beautiful!

  45. bitchpleaseeeeeeeeeee June 17, 2013

I’M SO INTO THIS SONG RIGHT THERE. RIP BABY GIRL!!!!!!!!!!!

  46. MISHKA June 17, 2013

Chris Breezy you triiiiied it with your R.Kelly/Game/DMX demeanor, but I did not buy it at all. You ain’t about that life, just be yourself.

Anyway, the best part of the song is Aaliyah. All those beige guys need to leave her legacy ALONE! *plays Journey to the Past*

    • Jay Jay June 17, 2013

      B**** STFU!!!!!!!!!!! ^^^^^^ YOU MOTHER F***** HATER

      • King_Keri4eva June 17, 2013

How is it hating??? Aaliyah’s music should be by Aaliyah for Aaliyah. Unless Missy/Ginuwine/Timbo/Dmx are on it. Using samples to ride the success of a late talent is tired.

I think they say, “OUT OF RESPECT!”

  47. i&i(bare badniss) June 17, 2013

When I hear a CB song that I love, I replay for hours. The last time I did this was for “sing like me” and “4 yrs old”. Loves it bad bad!

  48. King_Keri4eva June 17, 2013

OKay, I dont understand why the dead cant stay dead….Yes Aaliyah was a great talent of her time but how about Chris and Drake stop trying to ride her coat tail?? That is not okay..

The song is cute for Aaliyah…not chris
and Chris booboo…have several seats in the New Orleans Super Dome because you not thuggin…the best part of the video was Aaliyahs voice

  49. Aaliyah Fan June 18, 2013

I really like this song, as Chris brown didnt change much of the beat or insutrumental as the original version.

    So this is good.

Although i prefer the original version aaliyah did.

This is good becuase a new younger generation will know who aaliyah is.
