As recent debuts go, few have resonated more with the masses than Ariana Grande and her breakout smash ‘The Way’.
Penned by Jordin Sparks and Sevyn Streeter, the blazing track has propelled the 20-year from being a Nickelodeon name to one etched in the upper echelon of music charts across the globe.
The song’s greatest success has been on home-soil in the US where it recently received a major sales certification from the RIAA.

According to the industry juggernaut, ‘The Way’ has been awarded a Platinum plaque for selling over one million copies in America.
Released in late March, the exact number of units sold is 1,390,000 – as at writing.
Needless to say, congrats are certainly in order for Ms. Grande, who is currently smashing iTunes with her second single ‘Baby I’.

The worst part is that they always call this basic song “The Way” a smash! lol Some songs from the last months I would call smashes would be “Locked out of heaven” or Diamonds (sadly), and worldwide at that. Im tired of everybody saying that Ariana doesnt write in actuality she does. It seems to ensure that Ariana was a hit she was given these two singles to ensure her success. In a recent interview with Big Boy she clearly stated she writes and many songs that she has penned will be on her debut album out September 3rd so go and cop it and then see if she is a good enough artist for you.
