Kelly Rowland has been rather quiet of late, hasn’t she?
Having signed on as a judge on The X Factor USA, the natural assumption is that her “hiatus” was being used to film the FOX hit – which returns to TV screens next month. However, with new album ‘Talk A Good Game’ still a “fresh release” and in need of a push, many were left scratching their heads as to why Ms. Kelly has seemingly disappeared from the spotlight.
Well, it appears they may indeed be a method to the madness.
Full story after the jump…
Speaking to our friends over at Kempire Daily, songwriter and frequent Rowland collaborator Lonny Bereal dropped a number of interesting soundbites. Case, point….
“I vocal produced over half of the [Talk a Good Game] project and we wrote two songs that may be on the re-release that I wrote with Kelly and Jado. She’s back in the studio, even today, back in the studio creating new music”.

This, quite literally, sounds like music to our ears — if true. On a number of fronts.
Let’s not sugar-coat anything; ‘Talk’ clearly needs a spark a retail – something an X Factor assisted re-release will definitely help.
What’s more, and on somewhat of a random note; despite being the most sonically cohesive effort from Kelly’s solo catalogue, the original album committed one cardinal sin — having no uptempo. We’re in a recession and there is literally research to attest to the fact that most listeners want music that is light, bright, and danceable – especially from “performer” acts. And make no mistake, Kelly is an amazingly gifted performer (hello BET Awards 2011). Hence, we’re not sure why more material to showcase this wasn’t included. Needless to say, we hope this oversight is addressed on the reported re-issue.
Anyway, enough of our rambling…
Your thoughts?
Randomness: Nicki Minaj just followed Kelly on Twitter. Hmm.
