Tyga Rocks Billboard Social 50 With Digital Roar

Hip Hop found itself well represented on the charts this week, thanks to the ‘Dope’ genius that is Young Money‘s Tyga, and the video for his brand new single, ‘Show You‘.

Find out why the star has cause to celebrate below…

Upon the video’s premiere on July 24th, the ‘Coconut Juice’ performer saw video plays on his official VEVO page surpass the 10 million mark in a single week, generated by fans who rushed to the page to watch the video and its well executed predecessors.

Resulting in a 129% increase on the page, the video’s launch also saw the star’s social media stock rise alongside it, seeing him gain 168,000 new Followers on Twitter and 37,000 news fans on Facebook.

All of this, forcing him to #12 on this week’s Billboard Social 50, 17 spots higher than the #29 spot he held the week before- five months after its supporting album ‘Hotel California’ peaked at #1 on the US Top Rap Albums chart and #7 on the Billboard 200.

In other chart news, Lana Del Rey’s debut ‘Born To Die‘ enjoys a 15% sales increase as journey to US acclaim continues- one year and eight months after its release.

Quite interestingly, less than one year after its November 2012 release, Rihanna‘s ‘Unapologetic’ failed to hold a spot on the Top 50 this week, selling less than 7,000 units as its popularity in the market continues to slip and slide with every week.
