Miley Cyrus Set To “Wreck” Hot 100 Next Week With 1st #1

She may have a wrecked a few tastes with her twerk-tastrophe of a VMA performance, but that hasn’t stopped fans from ensuring her newest tune caused similar damage on Billboard charts.

Yes, after smashing VEVO viewership records with a whopping 19 million views in less than 24 hours, Miley Cyrus’ newest single “Wrecking Ball” is looking to make an impressive debut aboard the refreshing of next week’s Hot 100.

With her nearest competitor Katy Perry‘s ‘Roar’ slowly, but surely, keeping up less fuss, Cyrus is on track to be crowned next week’s chart champion.  Details inside:

Via Billboard:

“According to industry sources, “Ball” could sell more than 400,000 downloads for the tracking week ending Sunday (Sept. 15). It sold 116,000 in the Nielsen SoundScan week ending Sept. 8.

“Roar” is in line to sell 340,000-360,000.  Combining the sales projections and taking building BDS data for airplay and streaming and projecting chart points over a full week, “Ball” looks ready to swing its way to a fairly sizable lead over “Roar” and take over atop next week’s chart.”

With ‘Bangerz’ collaborator Britney Spears set to work her way onto Itunes tallies next week, will Miley’s first Hot 100 reign be short lived?

      • MISHKA September 14, 2013

A girl addicted to get naked, who hits #1 easily and who likes to puff puff pass…

        Rihanna, you in danger gurl.

      • MISHKA September 14, 2013

By the way, I love the song AND the video. Very creative.

Congrats Miley! You are a GROWN WOMAN! You can do what ever you want!!!! Stop hating on her, people act like she shooting up schools or something. ITS JUST ENTERTAINMENT PEOPLE GET OVER IT!!!!

    • Common Sense September 13, 2013

She’s shooting up young kid’s brains with her white trash antics. Why is she twerking when her ass is flatter than cardboard? Why is she running around in underwear when she looks like a 12 year old girl with flabby arms, legs, and ass?

  3. Lucia September 13, 2013

The song reminds me of Rihanna’s “What Now”

  4. Yeah I Said It September 13, 2013

I thought this was supposed to be flop according to some? And btw Dr Luke made this song for Beyonce but she rejected it.

    • Lovebird (Prism – 10.22.13) September 13, 2013

So Beyonce rejected this song and opted for 1+1 algeba instead? Her music taste is in serious crisis.

      • Yeah I Said It September 13, 2013

You think this song is better than 1+1? But then again you were slayed by Britneys Smurfs song so I dont know why Im surprised…

      • Lovebird (Prism – 10.22.13) September 13, 2013

But it is better than that algeba song.

      • Yeah I Said It September 13, 2013

        Lol yeahhhhh…

    • Lucia September 13, 2013

Really? I can’t imagine Beyonce singing that.

      • Lovebird (Prism – 10.22.13) September 13, 2013

Me too, Beyonce’s voice is whiney and not versatile enough to pull it off. She screeches her vocals a lot too.

There are a few songs she has sung well like “dance for you, dangerously in love and start over”, other than that, it’s boredom central.

      • Yeah I Said It September 13, 2013

@Lucia. Glad she didnt take it. Its very basic. But im sure if she did people wouldnt be able to imagine Miley singing it.

  5. Lovebird (Prism – 10.22.13) September 13, 2013

Meanwhile FLOPause is falling off those charts faster than Love on top.

FLOPause had made about as much sense as algeba on that nonsensical 1+1 record.

Even after the suicides have seen an epidemic of throat cancer due to their overzealous nature to over appease their Daddy monster, their “head” has been sub par judging by the embarrassing performance of FLOPause on those charts. Poor you Caca.

    • Yeah I Said It September 13, 2013

Dont you get bored of using the same recycled lines?

    • Apologetic September 13, 2013

Did you mean “Love on Flop”?

      • Rellz September 13, 2013

If your fav is Rihanna then Love on Top that same song that vocally slays your favs entire disgography should not enter your lips as any form of shade.

    • Tamartian September 13, 2013

      Tired ass lines boo.

  6. cyruz September 13, 2013

    Rihanna better watch our

  7. Lovebird (Prism – 10.22.13) September 13, 2013

And this mike will made it blow up doll has done more than Celine can ever do, which is help write a song and play an instrument.

I have seen Celine’s entire discography and she has no writing credits on any of her songs, even the French ones. One wonders why she’s so famous, she cannot write, cannot produce, cannot play an instrument, cannot sing live ( she lip syncs 99.9% of the time) cannot move on stage, why is she famous.

Celine is the epitome of faking it until you make it, and she made it alright. Made it through an entire career consisting of 99.9% lip synced performances.

    • Apologetic September 13, 2013

Find a job, earn money, wash your ears or have a surgery on them.

Have you ever attended a Céline (and not Celine) Dion concert? I dont think so. So shut the f*ck up.

  8. Suicide Blonde September 13, 2013

    Music is dead.

    • Lovebird (Prism – 10.22.13) September 13, 2013

      *looks at can’t be tamed’s sales *

No need to worry, she’s a fad.

      • Suicide Blonde September 13, 2013

I’m not worry, i’m shocked at her success.

      • Lovebird (Prism – 10.22.13) September 13, 2013

It’ll pass, she’s the flavor of the month. Her success means more failure for Caca and that’s enough for me.

      • Suicide Blonde September 13, 2013

        Well, lol.

    • Stephy Tha Lambily September 13, 2013

    • Mark111 September 13, 2013

But you stan for Madonna, who has NO talent as well. The things said about Miley were said 10 times more about Madonna years back.

    • JOHNVIDAL September 14, 2013

I agree with you on that. At least mainstream music. It all started in 2000 or so. And then Rihanna and the likes came… and nor this very young generation which is just trash, Milye, Beiber, etc. A talentless disgrace.

  9. RICHIE_RICH September 13, 2013

    Work Miley boo

  10. Rosie September 13, 2013

Well that’s it. America has the worst taste in music. It was already confirmed multiple times, like the millions of times a hit smashed in literally EVERY country except America while the most bland, generic song of the moment rocketed straight to #1.
And they’re not getting any better. People think it’s getting better because dance pop is over but faux indie mess like that Borde song and that huge smash We Are Young or generic trash like Roar or Wrecking V***** proves that America still has ways to go before the people there (well, at least the people there who still buy music) get decent music taste.
My country is just as bad almost but no one mentions or cares about the Canadian music charts.

    • Suicide Blonde September 13, 2013

I’m American and i f****** agree with you, it’s sad that we have the so-called most important chart in the whole world.

    • Lovebird (Prism – 10.22.13) September 13, 2013

      I Blame Clear Channel

      • Rosie September 13, 2013

Ugh f****** Clear Channel. The worst. I can’t at their monopoly.
Not to mention all that promo and the world’s biggest radio company backing it and the iHeart Radio Music Festival lineup is still the definition of struggle. And it’s not even a real music fest, just a lame ass 2 (or 3?) day concert.

      • Suicide Blonde September 13, 2013

It has been like that before that.

      • Lovebird (Prism – 10.22.13) September 13, 2013

Not to the point where you hear the same 5 songs on the radio over and over and over again, on every radio station.

    • RICHIE_RICH September 13, 2013

I still say the U.K has the worst taste in Music by far.

      • Suicide Blonde September 13, 2013

Yeah they pretty much too….they love BoyBands so……

      • Rosie September 13, 2013

They’re 2nd among the top 5 markets but at the same time they have some really amazing songs smashing there even when an absolutely terrible song goes straight to #1, so they’re forgiven.

      • Lovebird (Prism – 10.22.13) September 13, 2013

        Actually, as of last year, the biggest music markets are;

        1. Japan
        2. USA
        3. Germany
        4. UK.

The UK have better music taste than USA tbh, Lana Del Rey, Paloma Faith, Rebecca Ferguson and Emeli Sande can have a #1 single and album there, that cannot happen in the USA.

      • Rosie September 13, 2013

I meant that they have the 2nd worst taste among those 5 markets, sorry 🙂
        But I agree. UK>

    • JOHNVIDAL September 14, 2013

Finally a decent comment from you calling Roar generic trash. Congrats! But why are u blaming America? It´s just all around the world. In fact I´ve always thought Spain has way worse taste in music. Only pop, some rock, and Spanish music makes it here for example.
UK has always had better taste than Spain in my opinion too, but they are clearly worst than America in one thing, their taste in singles, like seriously UK singles chart is a f****** joke, way worse than Billboard hot 100.
Overall, music started to go downhill with the new millenium cos of the illegal downloading, labels stopped having so much money and they started to promote talentless acts the most, cos they were cheaper and music industry started to be singles-oriented.
Sad but true. Great music and amazing musicians still exist and I still get my dosis, but it doesn´t come from mainstream charts most of the times. This month I just got life from John Legend and Janelle Monáe´s new albums. Great music still exists. People are just becoming slower and more superficial to appreciate it.

      • Rosie September 14, 2013

I agree with most of your comment though.
Honestly I think the UK charts are slightly better though because there have been some actual talented, acclaimed, and very good artists getting hits there. Another good example is Disclosure. One of their songs went #2 in the UK I think? it definately went top 5 though. The US could never.
But good music does still exist, you just have to look pretty hard for it, even though services like satellite/internet radio make it a little easier.

    • ATM JAM September 14, 2013

The reason why indie artist get so much attention in my country (UK) is because EDM has been here since 2006 and people are sick of it. They just want something different & something with meaning. But yeah Rosie I agree with you the US has a dog chase tail taste in music & it’s sad because 20 years ago that wasn’t the case.

      • Rosie September 14, 2013

Yeah, it’s hilarious how the US is finally catching up with EDM, and not even the good songs (like Need You (100%)) just the really popular douchebag types like David Guetta and Skrillex. And the GP there thinks Mumford & Sons is indie, a mess. I wonder if people in the UK think that.

      • ATM JAM September 15, 2013

@Rosie lol yeah alot of the indie junkies over here talk about the US and how they get music like three years late. it’s a mess tbh and alot of the euro-electro heads like David Guetta need no space in the music industry, i wish there was a way to delete all of his music from the air-ways and the internet. i prefer zedd he’s not trash like the rest of them.

  11. RICHIE_RICH September 13, 2013

Damn does lovebird have a life at all? It is on TGJ 24/7

    • ree September 13, 2013

….are you really surprised? pls dont give her the attention. wack and useless.

    • JOHNVIDAL September 14, 2013

      I know. It´s pathetic.

  12. Rihanna’s new single will end your fav September 13, 2013

B**** jacks Rihanna but congrats on that first # 1. Where’s the damn monsters? Why is the fame w**** letting Miley snatch that wig??? I can’t at T***** Gay Gay thinking she was going to be the star that night with her irrelevant VMA performance. B**** had me fooled!!!

    • Mark111 September 13, 2013

Them monsters and the Hive are somewhere crying. Although the HIVE have decades to brag about and a huge tour, these monsters don’t have crap. With Lady Not Not flopping, maybe it will humble them a bit. Cause they were talking real wreckless a few months ago. I thought Gaga was gonna kill Katy? Nope, not in airplay, sales nor stream or views.

      Sorry, not sorry.

      • Rellz September 14, 2013

Dont bring the Hive into this. They have no teason to cry hon.

  13. TheTruth September 13, 2013

Shittybird has been using the same lines for about 4 weeks now, this b**** need to get some originality. YAWN. And Miley cyrus is a h** who thinks this fame will be with her if shes not naked. LOOL

Its a great song but when will Beyonce get a number 1 this decade?

    • Apologetic September 13, 2013

Never. She is Over. She is singing on her Farewell Greatest Hits Tour.

    • Beyhive September 13, 2013

She’s had top tens in 3 decades, does she care when songs like roar, wrecking ball, etc. are going number one?

BEYONCE IS DONE. IF they are saying mariah is done, then beyonce is done. There is no way she can come back . She does not even have her her beauty from 10 years ago. Rih with blues lips and penis clutch slays her.

  21. rIhanna is BIGGER THN BEYONCE EVER WAS September 13, 2013

Rih’s new music sounds mature; she is evolving. Beyonce, Ciara, Kelly, Keyshia all these h*** are stuck and going backwards.

  22. Tisha September 13, 2013

The f***** up thing is I’m watching this chick on her come up…and I’m watching her downfall.

Miley’s playing that deadly game in order to become popular and I know exactly how they’ll destroy her when they’re ready to promote the next teenage trainwreck.

    • Common Sense September 13, 2013

That time can’t possibly come soon enough.

  23. Overdose September 13, 2013

    @ Stephy Tha Lambily

20 years old is legal but it ain’t “grown”…you teenagers are so misunderstood and misinformed about “life” and the “real world” because your minds have been corrupted by the likes of Rihanna and Gaga.

    • Stephy Tha Lambily September 13, 2013

Ok Mommy. What time should I go to bed??

  30. Molly September 13, 2013

      Jealous people all around here.

      • Molly September 13, 2013

Right it deserves to be number 1.

  31. Nichole September 13, 2013

Wrecking Ball is a great track, and should be #1.

Enjoy it while it last, because Work B**** is coming next week.

  32. Rellz September 13, 2013

Just proves that all publicity is good publicity

  33. Stop the drama Start the Music September 13, 2013

We all know the Publicity stunt VMA performance made this song be a hit.
    It’s nothing special.

  34. Casual September 13, 2013

This song isn’t getting big airplay yet, and simply leading in sales isn’t enough to overtake Perry’s Roar on the Hot 100. The lesson here is YOUTUBE.

  35. Mark111 September 13, 2013

All this says is that Gaga is Nana. There’s a new attention seeking w**** in town now. Big ups to Miley, cause it’s a good song.

  36. Rihboy September 13, 2013

Oh please…..whats a wreck is this failed demeamor she is trying to give…….looking like sporty spice on drugs…. and of course her video racked up views quickly…..majority from people wanting to see a naked fool swinging on a wrecking ball……..its obvious the vma performance and her terrible twerk addiction is what helped her this time…….i give props..only to the execution of the vocal project itself
….but im not here for the fake love story…he hurt me…so ima loose it routine…….its so 07… her scrawny ass didnt look flattering at all in that video…….

  37. rIhanna is BIGGER THN BEYONCE EVER WAS September 13, 2013

Poor beyonce. . That 50 million pepsi marketing deal, failed to reignite her career. Rih’s clothing ………..has sold out . Let than 72 hours since the debut. I called it : beyomce wil bow out and rita hwra will be dropped. Mark my words.

  38. eric September 14, 2013

The things and the people we reward with our money and attention in this country… it’s a shame.

  39. JER September 14, 2013

I like how Katy Perry was outselling “Blurred Lines” 2:1 for weeks yet still couldn’t get to #1 but Miley just comes right up and gets this freebie #1 selling less than Katy’s biggest sales weeks. DEAD! Billboard needs to REALLY reconsider its formulas.

  40. jfkasy(rihanna navy) September 14, 2013

i’m excited about rihanna doing country american pop coz she has never done that sound before i think it will b a hit .And congrats to miley i remember telling people the vma performance was a good move now people are checking out for her music

  41. mr.m September 14, 2013

    probs to her team!
    They promoted her SO well
I never thought she’ll have a hit after Can’t Be Tamed
and her last flop .. BUT she came back hard this era
pulicity, going crazy, being a s*** or sell her body
like it or NOT .. IT WORKED FOR HER!

  42. JOHNVIDAL September 14, 2013

But why are some Rihanna fans talking s*** about this talentless young girl? Like hello! Hasn´t Rihanna sold s** and non stop promo with radio friendly single after radio friendly single for years until she could be considered kind of a pop star? Milye is another Rihanna. The way people talk about this… we go from bad to worse non stop. Now people are really believing Rihanna is great cos this new 20 years old generation is even worse lol At this rate, a person who was so far from being on true greats level and people who slayed in the 80´s and 90´s like Beyonce is going to end being a f****** queen of music industry LOL This is sad.

    • Molly September 14, 2013

Girl stfu you stan for lady Gaga who uses s** & gimmicks to sell

      • JOHNVIDAL September 14, 2013

  45. Oh Yeah!!! September 14, 2013

I am Sorry that Beyonce rejected this Song! Bey why did you do it?

  46. hug September 14, 2013

  47. Mark111 September 14, 2013

Rihanna’s name has been used 30 times on this post and it’s not even about her. THAT’S when you know you’re still that b****.

  48. irene46 September 14, 2013

imo, ‘wrecking ball’ is a good song but gaga’s ‘applause’ is better! her vma performance was dragging that stiff poker up the flat skinny saggy-assed version of alleged tweaking and ridiculous humping on a huge styrofoam finger that mylie put down. the media ignored gaga’s act (which was good)and focused solely on mylie. they’ve kept mylie’s name in their mouths every since. the media went from gaga consuming all media sources to spitting out mylie’s name at every opportunity. i didn’t even know that gaga had released her single ‘applause’. i can’t believe ‘applause’ didn’t reach #1. shows what media promotion can do.

    • irene46 September 15, 2013

correction: twerking! my spelling’s as bad as mylie’s dancing…almost!
